Widen your expectation
Dr. Roberto MirandaThe ideal ground for God to move miraculously is an expectant heart, a receptive mental space, a porous mind that does not hinder God, and his amazing works. God is motivated by the person who asks for bold things, the man or woman who jumps into the abyss only with their faith and confidence that God is faithful, and does not leave them to shame. those who trust him. That is why you have to actively and persistently cultivate that positive mindset in God.
It is not a mere "positive thinking" in the style of so much motivational literature that we find in the literary market today. Rather, this is a humanistic stance that exalts the power of the mind, the ability of the individual to make their way and succeed in life through an attitude of confidence in himself and in his innate abilities.
I mean rather a humble spiritual posture, which puts your trust in the living God. It is a healthy awareness of our personal limitations, strengthened by the assurance that the power of God dwells and moves within us. And that's what makes the difference! It is the attitude that "I can't do much by myself, but with God moving in and through me I can accomplish truly amazing things." It is the feeling that led the apostle Paul to declare, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."
In the hands of God, my limited talents and failed humanity become powerful instruments to accomplish absolutely unexpected things.
It only requires that we ask God, "If you want, let me walk on the water." And then, full of faith, we get out of the boat trusting that our faithful Lord will not allow us to sink if we have put our trust in him.
