Let Us Not Grow Weary of Doing What God Asks of Us

God is so beautiful and so wonderful, so mysterious, so complicated, that sometimes you have no words or way to express it. Sometimes you do not even have a way to comprehend everything God can do in the midst of our lives when we truly decide to trust in Him, when we decide to surrender to His plans, to His purposes for us. Sometimes, on a human level, you say, like, wow, where is this going to come from, or what is going to happen with that, or what is going to happen with what they told me, with this news I received?

But look, brothers and sisters, God is above all those things. God is above all of that. And I tell you—I share this with you, the brothers and sisters who watch us online—I do not know how God will continue working and intervening in the midst of our lives, but I do dare, I dare to believe that what God has in store will be something great and beautiful. That even through the circumstances in life we may be going through, no matter how difficult, no matter how confusing they may be, God, one way or another, will make His way—His way and the way you also need; there is something God is going to do.

I believe that what remains for us to do, my brothers and sisters, is not to lose our focus, not to lose our bearings, which are found in Him. It is very easy for us to focus on the circumstances, but there is something I have found to be true, and continue to find true: when we take our eyes off the circumstances and fix our eyes on Him, things take a completely different course.

People you could not tolerate before—you suddenly begin to feel a special grace and love for him or her, or for them. Suddenly, a situation that had you completely confused and you did not know how you were going to proceed—suddenly your mind opens and you say, like, wow, this definitely came from God. A business venture you are involved in that seemed complicated, that seemed as though there would be no way out—suddenly God takes care of putting everything in its proper place, and everything flows.

The loss of a loved one is something you have been carrying for a long time, and it hurts, and you still feel that emptiness. And when we take our eyes off that situation and place them on the Lord, in a mysterious way that I do not know how to explain, God takes care of filling that space. Because we are finding our strength in Him and not in our circumstances. Listen closely: circumstances rob you of your strength; they rob you of your energy. But when we fix our gaze on God and see ourselves as He sees us, as His sons, as His daughters, He then gives us the strength to tackle whatever lies ahead of us.

So I encourage you, my brothers and sisters: do not give up; do not grow weary. I am saying this to myself too; I am preaching to the preacher. Let us not give up; let us not grow weary. As Scripture says, let us not grow weary in doing good. Let us not grow weary of doing those things God asks of us. Even the simplest things, my brothers and sisters—even if it is just five minutes in the morning, if we are caught up in the rush of the day, just five minutes in which we can center ourselves, focus our minds on the Lord, and say: Lord, I give You my day; I give You my plans; help me to see You, Lord, in the midst of this situation.

Look, moments like those can make a difference. Even when you lie down to sleep, lie down just as the Psalm so aptly says: “In peace I will lie down, and I will also sleep, because You, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Do not lie down thinking about where the money is going to come from. Do not lie down thinking about when your child is going to do the things you are asking them to do. Do not lie down thinking about when your husband or your wife is going to understand the secrets of your heart, because perhaps they will not understand them; instead, lie down thinking that God is with you and that in Him you can rest secure.

Every opportunity, my brothers and sisters—every opportunity we have to connect with Him in one way or another—let us not look down on those simple little moments. If a brother or sister suddenly calls you just to see how you are doing, see God in that call. It is not merely so-and-so who called you; see God there in that call. A song suddenly comes on the radio and that song, like, gives you something—see God there. Moments like these, my brothers and sisters.

Look, yes, I am doing this because I am promoting the Wednesday services; I am being honest. These moments, my brothers and sisters, make a difference. Every time we have the opportunity to gather as a body, look, let us take advantage of those opportunities. On Mondays, when the Intercession Ministry gathers, if you have a gift of intercession, look, iron sharpens iron. Rub shoulders and elbows with other people who also have the gift of intercession so that those gifts within you will keep flowing.

If you need your cup renewed on Wednesday nights, look, take advantage of it; we are here, we are here. Spread the word. If you know someone else who is there falling apart from time to time, tell them, hey, come with me on a Wednesday night. And look, do not waste moments like these. Whether they lay a hand on you or not, the mere fact that you come here and draw near to the Lord—remember that when we do that, we are doing it as a declaration of faith, as a declaration of surrender.

Look at it this way. The chair is your condition, your nature, your reality, your everyday life. When you get out of your chair and come to the front, see that as a step of faith in which you are moving. Look, Lord, I am moving into Your dimension; I want to place these things in Your hands. Whether they pray for me or do not pray for me, whether lightning strikes me or does not strike me, whether they anoint me with oil or do not anoint me with oil—Lord, I am placing my trust in You.

Look, let us not belittle that, my brothers and sisters. God moves in any way He chooses. God wants your cup, my cup, to overflow. God does not want people with lamps that are half full or half empty; God wants people, God wants sons, God wants daughters, with full lamps, overflowing. Because He knows your condition very well; He knows very well what you go through day after day; He knows very well those things that want to rob you of your energy. And because He knows those things well, He knows how to make your cup overflow.

Take advantage of every opportunity you have to connect with Him. Get everything you can out of God. God has juice to give you; squeeze the juice out of Him—He wants you to do it.

Uh-huh, do you want to share something? Uh-huh, that juice definitely poured out abundantly here today.

Woman: Good evening. This afternoon I spent the day at the meeting, at my premises, number 615, where we were renewing the contract, and I had pain in my back. I felt such intense pain, so intense, and I still went to the store with my severe pain. I arrived here and said, well, this is from the Lord. When we were there just now holding hands, I felt the Lord’s blessing come upon me, and the Lord told me: I have to look upward. And that is how He led me; He held me leaning backward like this, and all of that was in the name of Jesus.

Pastor: Amen, amen, amen. Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Jesus; thank You, God; thank You, Lord, for those things You do in our lives, my God. Father, tonight has been a unique night, my God. You make it unique; You make it different. And Father, we leave this place tonight with Your blessing; we leave under Your covering; we leave strengthened, renewed, filled to overflowing in You, Lord. Father, may this blessing not drain out of us quickly, Lord, but may it last, may it endure, Jesus; may it remain there, deep within our being, within our hearts, and continue giving us energy so that we can get the most out of life, Lord, for Your glory and Your honor, Lord.

Because we know that when we do it this way for You, God, You take care of bringing Your blessings into our lives, Lord. So, Father, we are not here merely for the benefits of being in contact with You, Lord; we are here because we long for You, we desire You, Lord; we hunger and thirst for You, Jesus. And You are our everything; You are our center; You are our reason for being.

So, Father, we trust in You. And once again, we thank You. Thank You again for everything You have done and everything You will do. Bless each of my brothers and sisters, Jesus; guide them safely to their homes, Lord, and grant them deep, restorative rest tonight. And tomorrow, if You so permit, Jesus, may we be able to face everything the day brings, Lord, and see Your hand working in a powerful way. We thank You, Lord, and in Your name we pray and bring this time to a close. Amen, Lord Jesus. Thank You, God; thank You, Lord.
