Unconditional obedience
Faustino de Jesús Zamora VargasTo paraphrase an excellent Christian writer and theologian, God will never lead you into situations and circumstances where his grace does not reach you. As difficult as it may seem, in the face of apparent adversity and the succession of events incomprehensible to human understanding, "the conviction of what is not seen" (Hebrews 11.1) is crucial to move forward , if we obey the terms of the divine will. God's presence is definitely the greatest expression of his grace. Our obedience the best manifestation of love to our heavenly Father.
Joshua had “the certainty of what is expected” (Hebrews 11: 1) and trusted in the promise of the Most High to accompany him in the difficult undertaking of crossing the Jordan and taking the walled city of Jericho. God had ordered Joshua that the Ark of the Covenant, symbol of the presence of God, go before the people at the hands of the priests. God is the maximum leader of the conquest, who goes before his people, the one who performs the miracle of stopping the waters of the Jordan so that the people would cross in pursuit of the promised land. Josué is the obedient servant who instructs the orders of God to the people so that the company reaches a successful conclusion. Obedience not only brings blessing, but also paves the way for God to miraculously manifest himself in our lives.
Beautiful and necessary lessons for today's Christian, for the body of Christ. First, put God before everything we do. If he is the leader and guide, he will lead us to victory and contain the waters that try to stop us. He can do the miracle if we follow his instructions and obey without hesitation. The miracle of a soul that surrenders at your feet because we have cried out for it to happen, the miracle of healing when man has already lost hope from the human perspective, the miracle of provision when the abundant cupboards of the world deny you supply. God's pantries are rich and abundant. His grace will not allow any Jordan to drag us into its turbulent currents and separate us from its presence.
Unconditional obedience, unfailing fidelity, confidence that if He is with us, there is no Jordan to stop the advance of His Kingdom and the fulfillment of the promises that flow from His sovereignty. To see his hand on us, he too demands holiness in order to experience his grace in all its fullness. He expects obedience, he promises and always delivers.
God bless your Word!
