The filling of the Holy Spirit
Dr. Roberto Miranda(Audio: Spanish)
SUMMARY:
The apostle Paul encourages Christians to be wise, not foolish, and to make the most of their time because the days are evil. He instructs them to not get drunk with wine, but to be filled with the Holy Spirit. This filling of the Holy Spirit can be achieved through speaking with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, and through praising and giving thanks to God. A person filled with the Holy Spirit is someone who adores the Lord and has a passion for the kingdom of God. Praise and worship are important in unlocking the power of God and preparing the church to receive the word and power of God. God has unleashed a wave of praise and worship in these last days to prepare the church for His move in the world.
This sermon discusses the importance of praise and worship in the church, and how it releases the power of God. The speaker encourages listeners to praise God even in difficult times, and to sing spiritual songs and hymns from the heart. He uses examples from the Bible, such as the story of the woman who anointed Jesus with perfume, to illustrate the power of spontaneous and passionate worship. The speaker also emphasizes the importance of obedience to God, even if it means stepping outside of one's comfort zone.
The prophet Elisha missed an opportunity to completely destroy the enemy because he didn't strike enough times. The voice of the spirit may come in ways that we don't understand, but if we have faith and act on it, God will bless us. The church needs people who are filled with the Holy Spirit and willing to let God work through them. Gifts are developed by exercising them, making mistakes, and taking baby steps. We should take time alone with God to pray and praise Him in our hearts. Speaking in tongues is verbalizing energy and feelings placed in the vessel of language. A person filled with the Holy Spirit is grateful to God and knows that everything they have received is by His grace and mercy alone. God loves a grateful person who spares nothing for Him.
The writer urges readers to seek a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit and to be filled with the Holy Spirit. They particularly address young people, encouraging them to take the call of the Holy Spirit seriously and to sacrifice their dreams and pleasures to put God above all else. The writer believes that if young people do this, God will pour out his treasure upon their lives and use them mightily for his purposes. The word of the Lord for this generation is to be passionate and completely given over to God, walking in full integrity before him.Quickly to the word of the Lord, Ephesians chapter 5, verse 18. For our visitors, we are completing a series on the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the Lord has blessed us greatly through this series and we are trying to seal this precious people with God's call to a life of spiritual vitality, a life of energy, of power, of authority, of spiritual effectiveness.
