My God is a strong God
Faustino de Jesús Zamora VargasGod is not only strength, nor strength, but power. There are those who have strength, but have no power. That is why even the weak, before God, are invested with the power of the Holy Spirit. There we have Paul when he said to the Corinthians: “That is why I rejoice in weaknesses, insults, privations, persecutions and difficulties that I suffer for Christ; Because when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Co 12.10). Paul's strength does not lie in his strength, but in the power given by the Spirit to sustain him in the face of all kinds of tribulation and suffering. The Lord of Paul freed him from prisons and shipwrecks, saved him from a snake bite, provided comfort in the humiliation of the scourges, and provided him with bread in the hours of weakness.
Only the Spirit provides this kind of strength. Jesus, reading Isaiah in the Synagogue, revealed the fulfillment of the prophecy in his person: “The Spirit of the Almighty Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal wounded hearts, to proclaim liberation for the captives and freedom for the prisoners ”(Is 61.1).
