His power
Faustino de Jesús Zamora VargasYet the manifestation of the power of God, which is Christ, continues to be a stumbling block for some and a foolishness for others. It is madness for atheists, for Christians it is life; It is the work of the Spirit in our hearts. It is Christ immersed in the poverty of the most humble, distributing consolation and filling rivers of hope where there was no longer peace or relief from pain in the human tragedy of all the days. The prophetic word of Micah announced the Christ who would come, the shepherd of shepherds, whose power would give us the assurance of a full life.
Of this power that has been given to us by God in Jesus Christ, we need to speak. We know that God is almighty, that his power is limitless, and that we must rest and trust in that power. But what did God do so that today his children cling to his power on a planet that gives authority to science and the wisdom of man, to the “Saint Google” who knows everything and can do it?
Humanistic man does not realize that the more incredulous man becomes, the more visible the glory and power of God becomes. If you want to check it out, take a look at the growth the church of Christ has experienced in countries where the gospel was long stumbling for ideological purposes. You will see the power of God and the empowerment of Christians growing from glory to glory and strengthened by the Spirit of power! Paul reminded his beloved disciple: "For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power, of love and of self-control" (2 Tim 1.7).
And the Word continues to give us faith of that power in Christ that we have received: “All the fullness of the Godhead dwells in bodily form in Christ; and in him, who is the head of all power and authority, you have received that fullness. (Col 2. 9-10). Hallelujah! Imagine how our brothers in Colosse must have felt with those words. That's how blessed we must feel!
We have been clothed with power from on high (Lk 24.49) through the Spirit. The fullness that we receive through Christ is a reality that we must make aware of in our daily walk. God is omnipotent, we fragile vessels that by his grace we live the fullness of the Lord. Fullness is a totalizing concept. We don't need more. Christ is enough. The power of God dwells in us to honor his majesty with our lives and thus give him all the glory. The power of God is Christ in our lives, it is the gospel of his grace.
God bless you!
