And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. (Matthew 20:21)

Conflicts will always be with us, the question is how are we going to solve them?

In Matthew 20:20-28, the mother of two disciples asks Jesus to give them a place of honor in His Kingdom, causing conflict among the disciples. This teaches us that conflicts will always arise in the Church, but we must learn to recognize and deal with them in a way that follows the principles of Scripture. On the God Speaks Today website, it is important to allow freedom of expression while also following principles of decency, generosity, and care for others' sensibilities. By doing so, we can express the love of Christ and avoid conflicts that may turn people away from seeking God. Read more...

Hello, Oscar Rodriguez! Thank you for your comment. It's interesting how Dr. Roberto Miranda's devotional addresses the topic of conflict, as in the passage in Matthew 20:21 where the disciples' mother requests a special place for her sons. What reflection does this conflict among the disciples generate for you? Have a nice day! 🙏
Sabino Marroquin Lopez: In our daily lives, there are always differences between our family and friends, we have to be patient and calm.
Hello, Sabino Marroquín López! Your words are very wise. Indeed, in our daily lives, it's common to face differences and conflicts, as is also the case in the lives of Jesus' disciples. Patience and calm are important virtues for resolving these situations constructively. How do you think we could apply these principles of patience and calm in our daily relationships, using Matthew 20:21 as an example? Have a day full of peace and reflection! 🙏

Carlos A. Borja Flores: This devotional is very timely for those of us who are evangelical Christians in Ecuador, especially at this time when we must choose our country's next leader. Church members are aligning themselves with one of the two candidates, seeking human positions, which is leading to division. Yes, we must vote for one of them, but we mustn't align ourselves with their positions, because it divides us and distances us from the purpose for which we have been called, which is to bring the good news of the gospel to all nations.
Hello, Carlos A. Borja Flores! Thank you for sharing your insightful perspective on Dr. Roberto Miranda's devotional. It's interesting how you point out the importance of staying focused on the central purpose of the gospel, even amidst potentially divisive political decisions. Remembering that our identity as followers of Christ transcends political positions helps us maintain unity and the witness of Christ's love at all times. How do you think we could apply the principles of remaining united in Christ despite political differences in our daily lives? May divine wisdom guide your decisions in this important time for your country! 🙏
Francisco Diaz S.: We are Christians. We must be attentive, tolerant, and understanding toward those Christian brothers and sisters who differ from our practices, and we differ from theirs. We are brothers and sisters, and if we accept each other, we will learn from them, and they will learn from us. If we reject them, we will be guilty of pride and exclusivity.
Hello, Francisco Díaz S.! Your words reflect a beautiful attitude of humility and openness toward diversity within the body of Christ. As you mention, tolerance, understanding, and mutual acceptance among brothers and sisters who may differ in practices are fundamental to maintaining unity in the love of Christ. As in the passage where the disciples faced conflict, learning to accept and learn from one another strengthens our communion as brothers and sisters in Christ. What experiences have you had practicing tolerance and acceptance of differences in the Christian community? May the Lord continue to guide your steps on the path of love and unity! 🙏
Antonio Rosales : Blessings, a very good topic to reflect on conflicts. We know that Christ did not argue with his disciples so that no one would take his crown from him here on earth. He even said my crown is in obedience to my Father. I came to serve. Even the Apostle Paul understood that his ministry was to serve his calling. Oh, his ministry was to be the least of the Apostles. I can understand that in my life there is no position in my ministry but rather a purpose for the call. Christ has the crown for those of us who are called. May the Lord continue to add more to this ministry. God speaks today.
Hello, Antonio Rosales! Thank you for sharing your profound reflections. It's inspiring to remember the example of humility and service that both Jesus Christ and the apostle Paul left us. As you mention, focusing on purpose and obedience to God's will allows us to stay focused on what truly matters in our service and ministry. Like them, recognizing that the crown and authority belong to Christ frees us from seeking positions of prestige and invites us to serve with humility and dedication. How do you think we can follow the example of Jesus and Paul in our daily lives, especially amidst conflicts or differences in Christian service? May the Lord continue to bless your ministry and may His grace continue to strengthen your walk in faith! 🙏
Antonio Rosales : Amen, there will always be conflicts in churches and home ministry. Sin is always in our bodies, waiting to surface, and they are reflected in our growth. It is hard, even King David had conflicts with his children. The Kingdom is ours to live so that the Word can carry the course of God's will. The Holy Spirit helps us and the processes to combat conflicts. The Love of God strengthens us to have our hearts conform to the will of Christ Jesus. Amen 🙌
Hello, Antonio Rosales! Thank you for your insightful reflection on the inevitable presence of conflict in the church and ministries, as well as in the home. It's true that sin and internal struggles can manifest in different areas of our lives, but as you mention, the Holy Spirit guides and strengthens us to face and overcome these conflicts. The importance of keeping our hearts in conformity with Christ's will, allowing God's love to transform us, empowers us to approach challenges with grace and wisdom. How have you experienced the guidance and strengthening of the Holy Spirit in the midst of conflicts or challenges in your spiritual life? May the peace and love of Christ continue to be the foundation in all aspects of your life! 🙏
Luis Alfredo Ramírez Cano: Matthew 5:43-45 This is another command that Moses gave long ago: “Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.” 44 But now I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who mistreat you. 45 In this way you will be acting just like your Father, God in heaven. He makes his sun rise on the good and the evil. He sends rain for good to those who obey him and to those who do not. Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. We must know the Word, make it our own, and allow the fruit of the Holy Spirit to sprout in our actions: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We must know how to master our character and forge a character pleasing to our Father. When evangelizing, we must not use our words but rather our example. We are all brothers, and as brothers, there should be no quarrels or fights among us. May the Wisdom that comes from on High fill our hearts, and let us remember that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.
Hello, Luis Alfredo Ramírez Cano! What a beautiful reflection you share with us, based on the teachings of Jesus and the unity we find in Christ according to Galatians 3:28! It is essential to remember the call to love our enemies, pray for those who mistreat us, and demonstrate the fruit of the Holy Spirit in all our actions. Your emphasis on forging a character pleasing to God, based on the Word and example of Christ, is a powerful reminder of the importance of living a life consistent with what we believe. How have you experienced the transformation that the Holy Spirit produces in your life as you follow these principles of love and unity in Christ? May heavenly wisdom continue to guide your steps and may God's love be reflected through your words and actions. Blessings on your Christian walk! 🙏
Ruth Vives.: It is important to understand that even among God's people (the Church), some problems arise that we must resolve with patience and faith in Him. This shows us that we are brothers and sisters in Christ. Furthermore, we do not disappoint God in light of His example of peace in the world. God bless you! Amen.
Hello, Ruth Vives! Thank you for your insightful comment. It's true that in the Church, being a diverse body of believers, it's natural for differences and conflicts to arise. However, patience, faith, and an attitude of love among brothers and sisters allow us to resolve these situations in a way that glorifies God and strengthens our unity in Christ. By maintaining peace and harmony in the midst of difficulties, we demonstrate to the world God's transforming love in our lives. How have you experienced the importance of patience and faith in resolving conflicts within the Christian community? May God's grace and wisdom continue to guide your steps on the path of unity and Christian love. God bless you greatly! 🙏
