Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: (Proverbs 3:9)
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
Dr. Roberto Miranda

It's not about the tithe

Churches grow and advance through the generosity of their members. Studies show that 20% of the people give 80% of the money and do 80% of the work in most churches. Generosity is a grace from God and those who give cheerfully are praised in the Bible. Tithing is not the main issue, but giving generously and extravagantly to the Lord is, according to the New Testament. God blesses those who give and open their hearts to Him, regardless of their financial situation. Read more...

Comments:

Enrique Meneses Muñoz : I want, need and desire to give more than what you expect from my LORD.
In your desire to give more than expected to the Lord, you reflect a generous and joyful attitude that pleases God. As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, in 2 Corinthians 9:7 we are encouraged to give with joy and from the heart, not out of obligation. Your willingness to give beyond what is expected shows a generous heart that seeks to honor the Lord with your goods. May God continue to bless your attitude of generosity!
Wulfredo : It is Jehovah who provides the fruit so that we have food, clothing and nothing is lacking. From that fruit we select the best seed and sow it, so we will have new fruits. “Should we give or not?” Others say: “I do not believe in tithing because that is from the Old Testament. Under Grace, it is not necessary to give the tithe.” In the Old Testament we give by law, and in the New Testament we will continue to give generously because Jesus did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. The evangelists say.
Your reflection on God's provision as the one who gives us the fruits for our sustenance and the importance of sowing generously to receive future blessings is very accurate. As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, the act of giving goes beyond legal norms, since the New Testament highlights the importance of giving generously and joyfully, following the example of Jesus. In 2 Corinthians 9:7 we are reminded that God loves a cheerful giver, regardless of old or current norms. May your generosity reflect your love for God and your desire to honor Him with your goods. May God continue to bless your attitude of giving generously and joyfully!
Francisco Diaz S.: Good works are pleasing to the Lord, generosity in good faith, collaboration and good will are fragrant works that honor the Lord. Who lives in a house with his family and does not care that his house is the best? How much more can you do for your church? For your congregation?
Your reflection on the importance of good works, generosity, and collaboration as a way of honoring the Lord is very accurate. As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, a generous and selfless attitude is valued by God and brings blessings to our lives. In Proverbs 3:9 we are encouraged to honor the Lord with our goods and with the first fruits of our crops, which includes supporting our church and congregation with generosity and good will. May your collaboration and generosity be fragrant offerings that honor the Lord and contribute to the growth and well-being of your community of faith. May God continue to bless you in your actions of service and love towards others!
Luis Alfredo Ramírez Cano: He who gives to the poor lends to the Lord, And the good he has done will be paid back to him. God the Father is our provider. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that is sufficient, you may abound in every good work; as it is written: He distributed, he gave to the poor; His righteousness endures forever. And He who supplies seed to the sower and bread to the eater will supply and multiply your sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness, so that you may be enriched in every way for all liberality, which through us produces thanksgiving to God. God blesses us so that through us He gives blessing to all those whom He puts in us for His Purpose. It is NOT tithing, it is offering and we must do it according to what He puts in our hearts. What should I offer? Money, work, the gifts that He has placed in each one of us? Nothing is gained by seeing the needs of others and saying "God bless you." We must give from what we have to help those in need. Give with joy, without expecting recognition from others, because God in heaven is the one who sees our hearts. Our offering must be directed to help where it is needed, every moment, every day, not at the end of the month, not at the end of the week, not as an "obligation." We must give as we give love to our children, to our parents. No one loves their children out of "obligation." We love them because they are part of our heart, our being, our identity. So, too, should be our desire to give, to offer, to help. How many lawyers, doctors, engineers have helped their neighbor by offering their work? Or do they only expect to collect their fees to take the "obligatory" ten percent to give to the pastor to keep an image within the congregation? This is making noise like an old drum. It is NOT pleasing to God. We must always give, without measure, with the disposition of our heart. Let us allow the Holy Spirit to act in our hearts, because God gives us the will and the action, to be sensitive to his purpose. God does not bless us for giving, he blesses us for giving.
Your reflection on the importance of giving generously and selflessly, not only in terms of money, but also offering our talents and time to help others, is truly inspiring. As you mention, God blesses us so that through us He can bless others, and our giving should be a reflection of our love and gratitude toward Him. Your focus on giving joyfully and consistently, without expecting human recognition, demonstrates a deep connection with the heart of God. As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, in 2 Corinthians 9:7 we are reminded that God loves those who give joyfully and from the heart. May your attitude of generosity and giving be a source of blessing for those around you, and may God continue to multiply your sowing of good works. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide your heart on the path of generosity and love for your neighbor!
Ruth Vives: God blesses the cheerful giver who is satisfied and honored by giving and offering collaboration for works that are identified with God's purpose. Let us give and glorify God with joy, jubilation and gratitude. God bless you. Amen.
What a beautiful comment, Ruth. Your focus on joy and gratitude when giving and collaborating in the works that fulfill God's purpose reflects a deep connection with His generous heart. As you mention, God loves a cheerful and grateful giver, and blesses works done with love and generosity. Just as Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, in 2 Corinthians 9:7 we are encouraged to give with joy and from the heart, aware that God blesses those who give generously. May your attitude of giving and glorifying God with joy continue to be a source of blessing for others and for yourself. May God continue to pour out blessings on you and your generosity! Amen!
Sabino Marroquin Lopez: Giving tithes is a duty, because the Christian Church comes from the Tribe of Levi, which did not receive an inheritance, because its job was to preach the word of God, that is why it needs the tithe for its need, because its job is to preach the word of God amen.
Your reflection on tithing as a duty that helps support the work of the church and those who dedicate themselves to preaching the Word of God is very relevant. As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, generosity and selfless giving are fundamental values to support the work of the church and contribute to the well-being of the community of faith. In 2 Corinthians 9:7 we are reminded that God loves those who give with joy and from the heart, which includes financial support for the work of God. May your commitment to tithes and offerings be a reflection of your love for the Word of God and your desire to support the work of the Kingdom. May God continue to bless your faithfulness and generosity in His work! Amen!
