The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)
Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. (John 11:14)

We are children of eternity, children of life

This passage from the Bible raises the question of what death and life mean through the lens of Jesus Christ. For believers, there is no real death, only a temporary transition to a perfect and eternal life. Jesus refers to Lazarus' death as a light sleep, and through his resurrection, Lazarus entered into the plan of salvation made possible by Christ. Death has been absorbed by the victory of Jesus on the cross, and believers are children of eternity who rest easy in the knowledge of a perfect and beautiful dream before the presence of the Lord. Diego, it is wonderful that you loved Dr. Roberto Miranda's devotional. His reflection reminds us that, for the children of God, death is not the end, but a transition to a perfect and eternal life in the presence of the Lord. As Psalm 27:1 mentions, the Lord is our light and salvation, therefore, we should not fear. What a blessing to know that we are children of eternity and that death has been conquered by the victory of Christ!

Amen, Diego! It is beautiful to see how Dr. Roberto Miranda's reflection leads us to affirm our faith in the victory over death that we have in Christ Jesus. Let us always remember that we are children of life and that the promise of eternity in the presence of the Lord is our greatest guarantee. Carlos A. Borja Flores: Although it may seem a bit extreme and incomprehensible, when I have to attend the funeral of a Christian, I do not understand why there are laments and tears. As Dr. Miranda clearly states in this devotional, "Remember that for a child of God, death does not really exist, the only thing that exists is life. When we die in Christ, we pass from an imperfect life to a perfect life."
Carlos A. Borja Flores, your reflection is very profound and is in tune with the message of Dr. Roberto Miranda's devotional. It is true that as children of God, our perspective on death is different; it is a transition to a perfect life in the presence of the Lord. It is understandable to feel sadness at a funeral, but it is also comforting to remember that death is not the end for those who believe in Christ. May we comfort each other with the hope of eternal life that we have in Him. Blessings on your walk of faith!
Francisco Diaz S.: Our journey through this life is transitory, just as we were born we must die and each one has his time. - For us Christians, dying is being born into a new life, into another dimension where there is no pain or crying, no thirst or hunger or worldly needs, there will only be calm, peace and love in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Francisco Díaz S., your words are very accurate and reflect the truth of our Christian faith. Indeed, our passage through this life is transitory and death is part of the human experience. However, for Christians, dying means being born into a new life in the presence of God, where all pain and suffering will be transformed into peace, love and fulfillment in Christ Jesus. It is comforting to remember that our true home is in heaven, where we will be in perfect communion with our Lord. May this hope strengthen us in the midst of any adversity we face in this world.
