In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
(Isaiah 38:1)Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.

Prayer is the act of presenting our needs to the Lord with confidence, just as Martha and Mary did when they informed Jesus about their sick brother. Our previous experiences with the Lord build a foundation of faith and relationship that allow us to appeal to Him in times of need. It's important to maintain a devotional life to continually build this foundation. The Lord invites us to a life of continuous prayer, and we should not be afraid to let Him know our needs. We should abandon ourselves to His wisdom and sovereignty, trusting that He has a plan for every situation in our lives.
