Let the Lord know your needs

SUMMARY: Prayer is the act of presenting our needs to the Lord with confidence, just as Martha and Mary did when they informed Jesus about their sick brother. Our previous experiences with the Lord build a foundation of faith and relationship that allow us to appeal to Him in times of need. It's important to maintain a devotional life to continually build this foundation. The Lord invites us to a life of continuous prayer, and we should not be afraid to let Him know our needs. We should abandon ourselves to His wisdom and sovereignty, trusting that He has a plan for every situation in our lives.

I believe that "Lord come and help us, the one you love is sick" is a prototype of what prayer is. When we present our needs to the Lord, we confidently approach the Throne of Grace. The Word of God itself invites us to draw close to the Lord. It is a throne of grace, it is a throne of goodness and mercy, it is an opening throne for us. We do not have to come in fear that the Lord is going to reject us or that we are going to be bothering us in any way but rather that the Lord wants us to let him know our needs.

We are in the middle of this study concerning John chapter 11, death and resurrection of Lazarus. In the last program we were talking about the fact that Marta and María at the time of their crisis when their brother is terribly ill can appeal to the relationship that they already have with Jesus Christ, which John himself clarifies, that they were friends of Jesus, Mary was the one who had poured the perfume and had wiped the Lord with her hair, etc. not?.
