I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. (Genesis 9:13)

In Genesis 9:13 we read how God placed His bow in the clouds as a sign of His covenant, reminding us of His faithfulness. Also in Revelation 4:3 a rainbow is described around the throne of God, showing the beauty and grace of His presence. That is why he prepared the coming of the Messiah, to teach the way of salvation to a humanity that separates itself from God.
