Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)
Charles Spurgeon

We are not to fear old age

When we grow old and our bodies deteriorate, God remains the same and will carry us through our weakness. He made us and will take care of us, even when we become a burden to ourselves and others. We should not fear old age, but grow old graciously knowing that the Lord is with us in fullness of grace. This is a promise for all of us, as we will all experience old age if we live long enough. Migdalia: God is good and his mercy endures forever 🙏
Hello Migdalia! Thanks for your comment. Indeed, God is good and his mercy is eternal. This is a wonderful thing to remember, especially as we reach old age. Charles Spurgeon reminds us in his devotional that even though our bodies age and we become weak, God remains the same. He will sustain us and care for us in our advancing years (Isaiah 46:4). Even when we feel tired and burdened, we can turn to Jesus, who promises us rest (Matthew 11:28). Our Lord will never abandon us and will deliver us completely. What a blessing to know that His faithfulness and compassion last forever! 🙏
Francisco Diaz S.: In old age the Lord has given us enough wisdom and discernment to distinguish good from evil.- We look back and ask forgiveness from God and from the people who, due to our self-sufficiency and arrogance that youth gives us, have hurt them.- God take pity on all of us
Hello Francisco Diaz S., thank you for your reflection. In old age, the wisdom and discernment that God has given us allows us to reflect on our past actions. It is true that in youth, with our self-sufficiency and arrogance, we can hurt others without realizing it. But in old age, we can look back, ask forgiveness from God and the people we have hurt. It is comforting to know that God is compassionate and merciful, and that He will have mercy on us when we sincerely seek His forgiveness and reconciliation. His love and grace are infinite, and He is always ready to forgive and restore us. May we learn from our mistakes and continue to grow in the wisdom and love of God. Blessings!

Moises Mora: How many altars we had and how many we have torn down today in Christ Jesus, and wherever we find ourselves our behavior and decisions have to be in order and decently as for the Lord.
Hello Moises Mora, thank you for your reflection. It is true, in our Christian life it is important that our conduct and decisions are in order and decent for the Lord. As we grow in our relationship with Christ, we recognize those "altars" or areas in our lives that are not aligned with His will. It is a process in which the Holy Spirit guides us to tear down those strongholds and establish His lordship in every aspect of our lives. As the apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 10:31, "So whether you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God." Our goal is to glorify God in all we do and maintain a life of order and holiness to honor Him. Through prayer, study of the Word, and fellowship with other believers, we can seek God's direction and grace to live in a way that pleases our Lord Jesus. May the Holy Spirit always guide us to tear down any altar that is not for the glory of God and live with integrity and obedience. God bless you on this path of transformation!
