We are not to fear old age

SUMMARY: When we grow old and our bodies deteriorate, God remains the same and will carry us through our weakness. He made us and will take care of us, even when we become a burden to ourselves and others. We should not fear old age, but grow old graciously knowing that the Lord is with us in fullness of grace. This is a promise for all of us, as we will all experience old age if we live long enough.
The year is already very old, and here is a promise for our elderly friends; yes, and also for all of us, when old age takes hold of us. If we live long enough, we will all have gray hair; therefore, we may very well enjoy this promise with the foresight of faith.
When we grow old, our God will still be the I AM, and will forever remain the same. White hair speaks of our deterioration, but He does not experience deterioration. When we can't carry any weight, and we can barely support ourselves, the Lord will carry us. In the same way that in our young years He carried us like sheep on His chest, so He will do the same in our years of weakness.

When we become a burden to our friends and a burden to ourselves, the Lord will not throw us off with a jolt, but rather will lift us up and carry us and deliver us more fully than ever. In many cases the Lord grants His servants a long and peaceful evening. They worked hard all day and wasted themselves in the service of their Lord, and so he told them, "Now rest in anticipation of that eternal Sabbath that I have prepared for you." We are not to fear old age. We are to grow old graciously, since the Lord himself is with us in the fullness of grace.
