Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with shouting, and with sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, making a noise with psalteries and harps. (1 Chronicles 15:28)
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24)

Brief history of evangelical worship

The emphasis on preaching as the most important part of worship in many Christian churches has its roots in the Protestant Reformation, which emphasized doctrine and theology. This led to a decrease in the importance of emotional and physical aspects of worship, such as praise and symbolism, and a focus on the mental and conceptual space of the believer. This oversimplification of worship has led to it being seen as a prelude to evangelism, preaching, or teaching, rather than an essential part of the Christian experience. Read more...

Enrique Meneses Muñoz : I need to worship you at all times my LORD.
Enrique Meneses Muñoz, how beautiful is your desire to adore the Lord at all times. As Dr. Roberto Miranda's devotional says, throughout the history of the Church, worship has often been relegated to a secondary role. However, the Scriptures teach us that worship is an essential act in our relationship with God. In John 4:24, Jesus tells us, "God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth." This means that our worship must be sincere and spiritual, not limited to specific moments of congregational worship. We can worship the Lord at all times, in our words, in our thoughts, in our actions. May your desire to worship the Lord be a constant in your life.
Doris Rozo: Worship is an act of obedience and gratitude for what God gives us every day in our lives.
Doris Rozo, you have touched on an important point. Worship is, in effect, an act of obedience and gratitude towards God. As Dr. Roberto Miranda's devotional points out, throughout history, worship has sometimes been belittled or relegated to a secondary role. However, in the Scriptures we find numerous examples of genuine and sincere worship in response to God's goodness and faithfulness. In Psalm 100:4, we are urged to "Enter her gates with thanksgiving, her courts with praise." Worship is a way of expressing our gratitude to God for all that He gives us, acknowledging his sovereignty, and obeying his command to worship him. May our worship always be a reflection of our obedience and gratitude to God for his love and goodness in our lives.
Francisco Diaz S.: Many seek God in different congregations, with different cults, in different ways and thoughts.- I seek the Father through the Son, the true way, the way of truth and life "Jesus Christ King and our Lord"
Francisco Diaz S., it is beautiful to see how you seek God through Jesus Christ, the true way, the truth and the life. As Dr. Roberto Miranda's devotional mentions, throughout history, worship has taken different forms and approaches in different congregations. However, it is important to remember that Jesus Christ is the center of our worship and the mediator between us and the Father. In John 14:6, Jesus himself declared: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me." By seeking God through Jesus Christ, we recognize that only through Him can we have a full relationship with the Father. May your search and worship of God through Jesus Christ be constant and lead you to a deeper intimacy with the Lord.
Rosa Maria : What an excellent teaching... interesting... I had never seen Worship in this way but it is true we Evangelicals are more into Doctrine than Adoration. In my case I am Reformed and we do study a lot and it is true that the part of the Adoration is not as broad as it should be... Pastor Roberto, even in physical absence, always builds with his teaching, personally I will work to deepen Adoration. 🙏🏻 God Bless you Brothers
Rosa Maria, I am glad that you have found this teaching interesting and that it has led you to reflect on the subject of adoration in the evangelical context. As Dr. Roberto Miranda's devotional mentions, sometimes worship has been relegated to the background compared to doctrine in some evangelical traditions. However, it is important to remember that both doctrine and worship are essential components of our faith. Both help us grow spiritually and have a deeper relationship with God. It is wonderful that you are willing to go deeper into worship and give it a larger place in your life and in your congregation. Worship allows us to connect intimately with God, express our love and gratitude to him, and receive his presence and guidance in our lives. As Psalm 95:6 says: "Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker." May God bless you on this path of growth and deepening in worship. May your worship be a delight to the heart of God and a source of spiritual renewal in your life. God accompanies you in this process!
Ligia Mayorga : Beautiful to adore and thank God for his infinite love and mercy. Thank you for making us part of you, León de Juda Congregation.
Ligia Mayorga, it is beautiful to see how you value adoration and gratitude to God for his infinite love and mercy. As Dr. Roberto Miranda's devotional mentions, worship has often been underestimated or relegated to a secondary role compared to other aspects of worship. However, worship is a fundamental act in our relationship with God. Through worship, we can express our love, gratitude, and reverence for our Creator. It is a privilege to have your participation in the León de Judá Congregation and to be part of a community that values worship. Remember that worship is not limited to moments of congregational worship, but rather is a constant attitude of surrender and praise to God in all areas of our lives. May the Lord continue to bless and guide your path of worship and thanks. May you experience his presence and love in your life more and more. Thank you for being a part of this beautiful community of faith!
