Este vino a Jesús de noche y Le dijo: "Rabí, sabemos que has venido de Dios como maestro, porque nadie puede hacer las señales (los milagros) que Tú haces si Dios no está con él." (John 3:2)
Jesús le contestó: "En verdad te digo que el que no nace de nuevo no puede ver el reino de Dios." (John 3:3)
Nicodemo Le dijo: "¿Cómo puede un hombre nacer siendo ya viejo? ¿Acaso puede entrar por segunda vez en el vientre de su madre y nacer?" (John 3:4)
