His fidelity
Faustino de Jesús Zamora VargasWhen I think of God's faithfulness a lot of beautiful verses come to mind that summarize the faithful character of our Lord. But there is one that seems like a song from the Lord to the heart of the unfaithful man. The Word says: "The mountains will move and the hills will tremble, but my mercy will not depart from you nor the covenant of my peace will be broken." (Is 54:10). Yes, we are like the hills and mountains. God affirms us and encourages us at every step, but when the hour and the bad day come, we tremble, we break down and we forget his promise of faithfulness. Even showing indolence and ignoring his precious promises, he tells us that his help and provision will never be lacking. Nothing seems to portray the character of God and his relationship with his children so greatly as his faithfulness, which is timeless and everlasting. “Every morning its benefits are renewed; How great is his fidelity! " (Lm 3.23)
It is difficult to rest in the faithfulness of God if we live with our backs to the Word and neglect communion with our Lord. When our faith suffers the test of the falls in our daily walk, when we fail and wish to flee from the presence of God trying to hide sin behind fig leaves, his mercies and his fidelity show us that despite ingratitude and disloyalty, He remain faithful. "But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen them and protect them from the evil one" (2 Thes 3.3).
