SUMMARY: The new year may have started with difficult situations, such as illness, unemployment, financial struggles, or the loss of a loved one. The Psalmist advises us to lift our gaze to the Lord and depend on Him for strength to overcome these difficulties. If we have not yet asked Jesus to enter our hearts and give us eternal life, we can do so today and have peace in the midst of any storm. May the Lord bless us and strengthen us to emerge victorious in His name.

We have started the year with faith and waiting for the Lord's rich blessings in our lives and that of our families. However, many of us have entered 2014 with stormy situations. It is possible that we are ill, or we have a family member with a severe illness. We may not have a job and we are overwhelmed by financial need. Others may have lost a family member and started this year mourning the loss of a loved one.

These are the situations where the psalmist advises us to lift our gaze to the heavenly Father, recognizing that our strength and to overcome any difficulty is in our dependence on the Lord. If the Lord is in the boat of our life in the same way that He entered the boat with the disciples; The winds and the storm will calm down and we will go to the other shore.

If you have not had a special encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ, to ask him to enter your heart, forgive your sins and give you eternal life; you can do it today. Start this year with the Lord in the boat of your life. If you need to reconcile with Him, receive Him, He will give you peace in the midst of the storms that you are passing or that you will pass in this new year, you will be able to cope with them and be victorious in Him.

Lord bless each of those who read this devotional and we ask that as we go through the storms that come into our lives we stand firm in the faith that your presence accompanies us, strengthens us and will allow us to emerge victorious in the name of Jesus.
