My god is presence
Milagros García KlibanskySome time ago I read about a man who had committed a sin and locked himself in a room, he walked desperately from one side to the other while moaning saying: - Don't look at me, don't look at me! When we think in the Omnipresence of our God and we become aware that we are always under his gaze and care, they make us want to fall on our knees and cry out - Don't look at me! - because we know how dirty we are.
Only God and we ourselves are aware of how many sinful thoughts pass through our minds at every moment, how many bad desires towards our neighbor, how many envy against our brothers. Thoughts that sometimes we don't want to reveal ourselves, that just by conceiving them terrify us.
But He is there, in the recesses of our mind, He reaches the corners that even we cannot reach and His presence discovers our nature and there is nothing that escapes His gaze. Our heart is naked before Him, we are naked before Him, but where His presence acquires an unusual magnitude is when we are weak and helpless, when all our arrogance and pride are thrown into the mire, it is then that His presence rises before us like a giant. , making us feel that we are not alone and when we have nothing left to cling to, that is when we feel it best, because in the fall the only thing that sustains us is his hand.
His presence is a balm to our wounds, it is like wine in libation, it is a fresh breeze in the desert, water that gushes from an inexhaustible spring and hydrates our soul and is all we need to keep us alive. In his presence, creation prostrates itself.
Blessed are those who can enjoy their presence!
