Isaiah 40
Jim JorgensonSUMMARY:
The speaker, Jim Yorgensen, begins by expressing his gratitude for being invited to preach at the church and introduces himself as a missionary who has worked in the Dominican Republic. He reads from Isaiah Chapter 40, verses 1 to 12 in Spanish, which speaks about the voice of comfort, restoration, preparation, and proclamation. He believes that God has called this church to build a large urban church in Boston, and to bring restoration, reformation, and change to the city. He encourages the congregation to be shining stars for Jesus, to prepare the way for the Lord, and to tear down the strongholds of the enemy. He shares his own testimony of being called to be a missionary in the Dominican Republic and reminds the congregation that even though it may not be easy, if they keep marching on, God will lead them in triumph in Christ.
God's call to build his kingdom is not easy and will involve tribulations and hard times, but with a warrior spirit and faith, God will lead us to triumph. God is preparing a team to bring reform to all areas of society and subject them to the lordship of Christ. This is a time to prepare for discipleship and receiving the power to bring about reform in the city. God wants to gather the true sheep and bring salvation to families. We should pray for our families' salvation and for a move of the spirit of God in this church. God is touching people and telling them it is time to be restored and enter their calling.I want to give a special welcome to my brother Jim Jorgensen who, as his name sounds, is not necessarily a Latino, but from the heart he is Latino.
Jim, come this way. Jim has been a missionary in the Dominican Republic and my nephew Johnny who is a pastor there in the Dominican Republic has highly recommended him. Jim has had a fruitful ministry there in the Dominican Republic and is a servant of God who moves in the prophetic gift, he spent several years with his wife, who is a professor at a university here in Albany. She came to Boston this weekend because her daughter is starting her college career here in Boston. So we have invited him to share the word of the Lord, the ministry that the Lord has given him with us.
