God is by your side - can you perceive it?
Miriam CarrasquilloOne afternoon, sitting in my living room, I listened to an inspiring preaching from a well-known preacher. In his presentation he said that at the time of the trial was when the child of God had to be most aware of the presence of the Lord at his side. Aware that He is in those difficult moments.
This preaching caught my attention because the speaker said that God would not let His children go through trials, unless He, God Himself, did not go through them with them. Each event or event in our pilgrimage on earth has a specific purpose within God's plans, and in each one He promises to be by our side. Just as God was with Daniel in the lion's den (Daniel 6), and with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace (Daniel 3), so he promises to be with us. So obvious was the presence of God in the midst of these men, that even the onlookers could see it from outside. When they looked into the furnace, they did not see the three that they had thrown out, but four (Daniel 3: 24-25), God was with them inside the furnace. Just as he was also with Joseph (Genesis 37-) when he went through the bitter experience of being sold by his own brothers. Through the years, and all the time that his trial lasted, God was with him.
When trials come is when we least perceive God in our lives. And that's when He wants to let himself be seen and felt the most by our side. It is at that precise moment when we can perceive its presence so tangible, like the very presence of a human. God uses trials to reveal himself to us.
While we are on this earth we have to go through difficult situations. But as children of God we know that everything has a purpose in the Lord's plans. No matter what test you are going through, stop for a second, and think that the Creator of the Universe, Your Creator, is by your side. YOU ARE NOT ALONE, GOD IS WITH YOU.
Prayer: Thank you Father for always being by our side, and for helping us fully understand what that means. By Jesus. Amen
