Christmas message

Dr. Roberto Miranda
(Audio: Spanish)

SUMMARY: In this sermon, the speaker discusses the significance of Jesus' birth and how it relates to the theme of peace. He explains that Jesus came to bring peace and reconciliation to a creation that was divided and in conflict due to the fall of man. The speaker emphasizes the importance of believing in Jesus as the way to find peace with God and within oneself. He also touches on the idea that political leaders who do not believe in God may not be able to bring true peace to their nations. The speaker uses passages from the Gospel of Luke and the Epistle to the Romans to support his points.

The message of Christmas is that through the birth of Jesus Christ, a new era of blessing and redemption has been ushered in. Christ is the new Adam, who has neutralized the curse of sin and made it possible for humanity to live in a state of health, prosperity, and harmony. This is made possible through faith in Christ and obedience to his word. We must reject the lies and deceptions of the world and live by the principles of faith, trusting that God will bless and prosper us. The gift of Christ is a much better covenant than the old Mosaic covenant, and through him we have access to a life of abundance and blessing.

The speaker urges Christians to aspire to an abundant life of joy and triumph, made possible by Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross. He criticizes the secularization of Christmas and emphasizes the importance of Christ's birth, which brings salvation and eternal life. He encourages those who have not accepted Christ to do so and asks everyone to keep the Christmas message in their hearts always.

The angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you tidings of great joy that will be for all the people, for a savior has been born for you today in the city of David, who is Christ the Lord. This will serve as a sign, you will find the child wrapped in diapers, lying in a manger. And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men.'

Then we go to the account there in verse 25 of when the Lord is presented in the temple. A few days have passed, 8 days to be specific, on the eighth day the male child was circumcised and taken to the temple to be presented. And they arrive at the temple in Jerusalem and something very interesting happens there.
