Summary: When faced with wicked and deceitful men, we need not wear ourselves out arguing or seeking an impossible peace. Let us turn to the Lord, for He is faithful, and none of His promises will remain unfulfilled. He will strengthen us so that the wickedness of others does not cause our downfall, and He will guard us from the evils surrounding us. Instead of contending with men, we can take refuge in Jesus, where we find sincerity, faithfulness, and unchanging love. Nothing that men or demons do will thwart the purpose of His grace, His protection, and His provision. Let us rest without doubting and pray today that the Lord will strengthen and guard us.
Men are often as devoid of reason as they are of faith. There are still "wicked and evil men" among us. It is no use arguing with them or trying to be at peace with them: their hearts are false, and their conversation is deceitful. Well, what shall we do?
Shall we worry about them? No; let us turn to the Lord, for He is faithful. No promise in His Word will ever go unfulfilled. He is not unreasonable in His demands upon us, nor is He unfaithful to our pleas concerning Him. We have a faithful God. This should be our joy.
He will establish us in such a way that wicked men will not bring about our downfall, and He will guard us in such a way that none of the evils now besetting us will truly do us any harm. What a blessing it is for us that we do not have to contend with men, but instead are permitted to take shelter in the Lord Jesus, who truly identifies with us. There is a sincere heart, a faithful mind, an unchanging Love; let us rest there. The Lord will fulfill the purpose of His grace toward us, His servants, and we must not allow even a shadow of doubt to fall upon our spirits. Nothing that men or demons may do can prevent us from enjoying divine protection and provision. Let us pray today, asking the Lord to establish us and guard us.
