See now that I am He; there is no God besides Me. I bring death and I give life; I wound and I heal, and there is no one who can deliver from My hand. — Deuteronomy 32:39
When Jesus had spoken these things, He lifted up His eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may glorify You. For You granted Him authority over all people, so that He may give eternal life to all those You have given Him." — John 17:1-2

Summary: My beloved friends, let us fix our gaze upon the magnificent truth that our Lord Jesus embodies the very authority and life-giving power of the one true God. He holds universal dominion, assuring us that our salvation is unshakeably guarded in His invincible hand, granting us eternal, death-conquering life. Therefore, we worship Him, finding unshakeable peace and resting in Christ, our God incarnate, the fount of endless hope.
Oh, my beloved friends, let us today fix our gaze upon a truth so magnificent, it ought to banish every fear and anchor our souls in unshakeable peace! Consider, I pray you, that thunderous declaration from ancient days, sung by Moses: "I, even I, am he, and there is no god beside me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand!" This was Yahweh's exclusive, glorious claim – the very definition of the one true God!
And then, behold! Centuries later, our Lord Jesus, in His High Priestly Prayer, lifts His voice and says, "Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son... since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him." Do you see it, dear saint? The sacred space previously reserved for God alone, Jesus steps into it! The ancient "Ani Hu" – "I AM HE" – resounds from Christ's own lips as "Ego Eimi." He claims the self-existent, life-giving, all-delivering power of God Himself!
Ah, what comfort floods the soul when we grasp this! If He holds the keys of life and death, if He possesses universal dominion, then hear this most precious echo: "No one will snatch them out of my hand!" Oh, the unshakeable security, my brothers and sisters, that flows from this truth! Your salvation is not a fragile thing, but is guarded by the very power that defines the Almighty! This eternal life He gives is no mere extension of days, but a qualitative participation in the very nature of God—a divine, death-conquering existence that reorients our entire being.
Therefore, let our hearts swell with worship! We adore not two gods, but the one true God, fully revealed in our precious Jesus. And remember, His glorification, His "hour," was His crucifixion! God's glory often shines brightest not in earthly power, but in ultimate sacrifice and humility. So let us, too, find strength and purpose in following His humble, sacrificial path, knowing that He holds authority "over all flesh"—over every circumstance, every fear, every tomorrow. Rest, then, in the invincible hand of Christ, our God incarnate, the bedrock of our faith, and the fount of endless hope.
