There are signs of the Lord’s movements that should move us. The Spirit of God blows where He wills, and we hear His sound. Then the time has come for us to be more active than ever. We must seize that golden opportunity and make the most of it.

It is our responsibility to fight the Philistines at all times; but when the Lord Himself goes out before us, we must be especially courageous in battle.

The breeze stirred the treetops, and David and his men took this as the signal to charge; as they advanced, the Lord Himself struck down the Philistines. Oh, may the Lord open a door for us today to speak of Him with many of our friends! We must be watchful so that we can seize the promising opportunity when it comes. Who knows whether this might be a day of good news, a time to win souls? We must keep our ears open to hear the whisper of the wind, and our minds ready to obey the signal. Is not this promise, “for the LORD will go out before you,” sufficient encouragement for us to act courageously? Since the Lord goes out before us, we dare not retreat.
