Hidden Evil

There is an evil in man, hidden deep within his being, which Satan conceals within the ego, and thus it passes as though it were something natural.

The ego, the vanity of being superior to everyone and more skillful than everyone, no matter what the cost

—the pain, suffering, blood, and death of our brothers, or that of the animals belonging to our Lord—hunting, killing, and torturing merely for the enjoyment of it. Contempt for the poor, the disabled, those who lack sufficient resources, and those upon whom we look down while displaying our superiority, tossing them a coin not out of love but out of pride in being able to do so because we have money to spare, reveals the ego that we feed with pride, vanity, and the supposed satisfaction of being the best.

Now we realize that behind that satisfaction of being better, we are accumulating much evil. We are sowing pain, death, and destruction in other hearts.

Christians must rid themselves of that bad leaven, which we apparently do not have but which is ready to ferment when the opportunity arises. Let us erase the entire past and remove everything that could harm us in our relationship with our Heavenly Father. We must be guided by the Word of God and not by human passions; we must say NO to any temptation we may face and always remember this promise that we make to God:

“LORD, I PROMISE YOU THAT I WILL NOT SIN, THAT I WILL TURN AWAY FROM EVIL AND NOT FALL INTO TEMPTATION.”
