And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live. (Deuteronomy 30:6)
In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: (Colossians 2:11)
Charles Spurgeon

If we walk in the things of the Spirit, we will live

True circumcision is performed by Jehovah God on our hearts, not on our flesh. It is the essential sign of the covenant of grace and results in a love for God that brings life. We must trust in the Holy Spirit's work of grace in our hearts, rather than external rituals, to truly live for God. This is the message from The Bank of Faith Checkbook by Charles Spurgeon. Enrique Meneses Muñoz : Only in you do I trust my LORD to work in my heart. I always need you GOD.
Brother Enrique, thank you for sharing your beautiful trust in the Lord. As mentioned in Deuteronomy 30:6, it is God who circumcises our hearts so that we can love Him with all our being and live in His will. It is an act of grace and love that only He can perform in us. May we continue to seek the Lord at all times, recognizing our need for His work within us. May His Holy Spirit guide us to walk in His ways and experience the abundant life He has for us. May the circumcision of the heart be a reality in our lives, allowing Christ to transform us from the deepest depths. As Colossians 2:11 mentions, we have been circumcised by Christ, not with a physical circumcision, but with a spiritual transformation that frees us from sin and brings us closer to God. May His grace continue to work in you, Enrique, and in all of us, so that we can live in His truth and experience His love in deep and transformative ways! Blessings!
Arlin : Yes, it is a painful process in the flesh. Then it will be in the spirit when we have to get rid of our carnal tendency. But I believe that God is a God of love and knows what we need to replenish our needs. I trust that he will make a change in me through his love and grace in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Dear Arlin, your reflection is very deep and full of faith. It is true that shedding our carnal tendencies can be a painful process, but as Charles Spurgeon mentions in his devotional, it is the Holy Spirit who works in us that spiritual circumcision, removing carnality from our hearts so that we can love God fully and live in His will. We trust in God's love and grace, knowing that He knows our needs and is willing to transform us from the inside out. As you mention, God is a God of love who guides and strengthens us in the midst of challenges and processes of change. Just as Colossians 2:11 mentions, we trust that Christ's circumcision in us frees us and transforms us for His glory. May we, in the midst of any pain or difficulty in the process of sanctification, hold on to the hope and certainty that God is working in us through love and grace, leading us to an ever-fuller life in Christ. May we continue to trust in His redemptive work and His transforming power. God bless you, Arlin, and strengthen you in your walk of faith!
Francisco Diaz S.: He who does not believe in God is an arrogant fool, he who denies Jesus Christ denies God since he who denies the son also denies the Father.- Let us free ourselves from all evil that exists in our hearts, that is true circumcision
Dear Francisco, your comment reflects a deep conviction about the importance of faith in God and in Jesus Christ. It is true that the denial of Christ is a direct denial of the Father, as mentioned in the Scriptures. Recognizing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is fundamental in our Christian faith, since through Him we obtain reconciliation with God and the possibility of an intimate relationship with our Creator. Your call to free us from all evil in our hearts is very pertinent and moving. As Charles Spurgeon mentions in his devotional, true spiritual circumcision involves putting aside carnality and allowing God to transform our hearts to love Him and live in His will. It is a process in which the Holy Spirit works in us to separate us from evil and guide us towards holiness. May we, as you mention, seek that true circumcision of the heart, allowing God's grace to purify us and lead us into deeper communion with Him. May our faith in Christ compel us to live in righteousness and love, reflecting His light in middle of a world that so needs His truth and redemption. May the Lord continue to strengthen you in your faith and in your search for a life consecrated to Him, Francisco! God bless you abundantly!
César Rodríguez Osorio : When we fight with our own strength, we may faint. But in Today's Devotional He shows us that it is the Work of the Holy Spirit through what Jesus did on the Cross, where Our Sinful Nature Changes and he is the one who Places the Willing as the Doing. The only thing we have to do is throw ourselves into the Arms of the Lord and recognize that we totally depend on him. He makes that Spiritual Change, something that Man Cannot Do
Dear César, your observation is very accurate. Indeed, as you mention, when we try to fight with our own strength, we can faint along the way. However, it is comforting to remember that the work of transformation in our lives is the work of the Holy Spirit, as Charles Spurgeon's devotional teaches us. It is through what Jesus did on the Cross that our sinful nature is changed and the willing and the doing come from God. Recognizing our total dependence on God and throwing ourselves into His arms is fundamental in our Christian life. As Spurgeon mentions, it is the Holy Spirit who makes that spiritual change in us, something that we could not achieve on our own strength. It is a powerful reminder that our faith and salvation do not depend on our ability, but on the grace and power of God at work in us. May we, as you mention, completely surrender to the transformative work of God in our lives, trusting in His power and love to change our inner being. May the Holy Spirit guide us at all times and strengthen us to live in accordance with the will of God! May we rest in the certainty that in Him we find true transformation and renewal. God bless you and sustain you in your walk of faith, Caesar!
Ruth Vives.: The Holy Spirit when he works in the Christian is my wonderful thing. God bless. Amen.
Dear Ruth, how beautiful it is to recognize the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. As you mention, His work is truly wonderful and transformative. It is through His guidance, comfort and power that we experience the living presence of God in our lives, leading us into deeper communion with our Lord. May the presence and action of the Holy Spirit continue to be a source of blessing and strength in your walk of faith. May His wisdom guide you, His love sustain you, and His power enable you to live according to God's will. May you experience the peace and joy that comes from the Holy Spirit in the midst of every challenge and every victory. May your heart remain receptive to His leading and may your life be a living testimony of God's love and grace. May the Lord bless you abundantly, Ruth, and may His Spirit continue to work wonderfully in you! Amen!
