Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
(Psalm 128:1)Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
(Acts 9:31) Blessings come with obedience
Jabez asks God for blessings, expansion of territory, the Hand of God to be with him, and protection from evil. The first request for blessings encompasses the other specific blessings. Living in Christ Jesus means living a life approved by God, which leads to prosperity and blessings on all levels. The Book of Deuteronomy and Psalm 128 discuss the blessings that come with obedience to God. Jabez's request for blessings is asking to live under the sign of God's approval, where everything he touches will be blessed. As children of God, we can expect blessings and have the right to ask for them. Living under the expectation of God's blessing leads to a different course in life.
