He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. (Psalm 91:15)
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. (John 12:26)
Charles Spurgeon

The Father will honor those who follow His Son

The best way to serve Christ is by imitating Him. By following His example, we honor His name and earn His company. If we suffer with Him here on earth, we will share in His glory in heaven. The Father will also honor those who faithfully follow His Son. This honor is far greater than any that can be bestowed by earthly princes or emperors. Therefore, we should hold fast to the Lord Jesus and strive to imitate Him every day. Read more...

Carlos Antonio Borja Flores: Tremendous devotional that should be meditated very seriously by us Christians. Jesus did not die only for those of us who call ourselves Christians, Jesus died for the entire human race (John 3:16), so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. God was incarnated in a man, so that we could see him as we should be and follow in his footsteps. Dr. Spurgeon very well says "The highest service is imitation", "the condition of our Lord's life will be the condition of our life" "If I imitate Jesus, I will have His company: if I am like Him, I will be with Him. In due time He will take me on high to dwell with Him above; if, in the meantime, I strive to follow Him down here." May the Holy Spirit teach and guide me along the paths that God has laid out for those who want do His will.
Thank you for your comment, Carlos Antonio! It is true, Jesus died for all humanity, regardless of whether we consider ourselves Christians or not. He showed us the way and invited us to follow in his footsteps. As Charles Spurgeon mentions, imitating Jesus is the highest form of service, and if we strive to follow him, we will have his company both in this life and in eternity. It is wonderful to be able to count on the guidance of the Holy Spirit to learn and be directed along the paths that God has prepared for those who wish to do his will. Let us continue to imitate Jesus and trust that the Father will honor us for following his Son. May the Lord bless you and strengthen you in your Christian walk. God bless you!

God hears our prayers and is willing to help us in our Christian walk. Allow Him to transform you into His image and guide you in the process of becoming more like Jesus every day. Remember that the book of Revelation shows us the glory and majesty of Jesus Christ. By studying and meditating on this book, you will be able to know your Savior more and be inspired by his example. Charles Spurgeon also encourages us to imitate Jesus and follow in his footsteps, leaving behind the inclinations and pleasures of the world.
