God speaks today Monday | November 6, 2023

In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. (Jeremiah 23:6)
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; (Romans 3:21)
Dr. Roberto Miranda

Do we still have to do good works?

Before Christ, people had to rely on rituals and works to obtain justification before God, but no one could fulfill the Law perfectly. With Christ, salvation is earned through pure grace, and good works are a result of being a child of God. They are no longer a prerequisite for salvation but are necessary for a sustained relationship with God. Check out the sermon "Pure Grace" for a deeper understanding. Read more...

Comments:

Enrique Meneses Muñoz : Having Jesus in my life everything is different.
Hello, Enrique! Thanks for your comment. It's true, having Jesus in our lives makes a big difference. As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, with Christ in our lives we can no longer obtain justification before God through rituals and works, since salvation is by pure grace (Miranda, Do we still have to do good works? , paragraph 2). Now, good works are a result and a way to thank God for his incomprehensible gift (Miranda, Do We Still Have to Do Good Works?, paragraph 3). This transformation we experience upon receiving Jesus is reflected in the promise we find in Jeremiah 23:6, where we are told of how Judah will be saved and how Israel will dwell in safety, and the Lord is mentioned as our righteousness. Furthermore, in Romans 3:21 we are told of the righteousness of God that has been manifested apart from the Law. It is wonderful how Jesus changes our lives and leads us to live in a sustained relationship with God. I hope that this message from Dr. Roberto Miranda and the biblical quotes are of great benefit to you. Blessings!
Wulfredo : A concise and profound message
Hello Wulfredo! Thanks for your comment. I agree with you, Dr. Roberto Miranda's message is concise and profound. Simply put, it reminds us that with Christ in our lives, we can no longer earn salvation through works and rituals, but rather by pure grace (Miranda, Do We Still Have to Do Good Works?, paragraph 2). Good works are now a result and a way to thank God for his incomprehensible gift (Miranda, Do We Still Have to Do Good Works?, paragraph 3). The depth of this message is supported by the biblical quotes mentioned, such as Jeremiah 23:6, which tells us about the salvation and security we find in God, and Romans 3:21, which tells us about the justice of God. apart from the Law. I hope that this concise and profound message from Dr. Roberto Miranda is of great inspiration and reflection for you. Blessings!
Francisco Diaz S.: Jesus Christ my King and Lord, in Him is my salvation
Hello Francisco! Thanks for your comment. It is beautiful to see how you recognize Jesus Christ as your King and Lord, and how you affirm that your salvation is in Him. As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, with Christ in our lives, we can no longer obtain justification before God through our own works, but rather by pure grace (Miranda, Do we still have to do good works?, paragraph 2). It is through the redemptive work of Jesus on the cross that we find our salvation. As you mentioned, Jesus Christ is our King and Lord, and in Him is our salvation. It is through His grace and His sacrifice that we can experience that salvation and have a sustained relationship with God (Miranda, Do We Still Need to Do Good Works?, paragraph 4). May the truth that Jesus Christ is your King and Lord, and that in Him is your salvation, continue to be a source of blessing and strength in your life. God bless you!
Carlos A. Borja Flores: Tremendous devotional, especially when we complement it with the sermon "Pure grace?", which teaches us that, after having received the Holy Spirit by grace, it is necessary to keep the moral and spiritual law of God. Praise the Lord!
Hi Carlos! Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you found Dr. Roberto Miranda's devotional tremendous. As you mentioned, complementing it with the "Pure Grace" sermon allows us to delve deeper into the topic of salvation by grace. It is interesting what you mention about the importance of keeping God's moral and spiritual law after receiving the Holy Spirit by grace. In his devotional, Dr. Roberto Miranda highlights that with Christ in our lives, good works are a result and a way of thanking God for his incomprehensible gift (Miranda, Do we still have to do good works?, paragraph 3). However, it is also important to remember that our relationship with God is not based on the fulfillment of the law, but on the righteousness of God manifested apart from the law (Romans 3:21). It is wonderful to praise the Lord for his grace and for the salvation we have in Jesus Christ. May we live in obedience to His word and keep His moral and spiritual law, not as a requirement for our salvation, but as a response of love and gratitude to Him. May the grace and love of the Lord continue to guide your life. Blessings!
Sabino Marroquín López.: My occupation is my morning and night prayers, my work is: projects to generate employment and help poor families, for the support of their children, so that they do not go into crime and end up in jail amen.
Hello Sabino! Thank you for sharing your occupation and work with us. It is wonderful to see how your prayers and actions are focused on helping poor families and generating employment. As Dr. Roberto Miranda mentions in his devotional, good works are a result of our condition as children of God and are a way of giving thanks for his incomprehensible gift (Miranda, Do we still have to do good works?, paragraph 3). Your work in generating projects to help poor families and prevent children from falling into crime is truly valuable. You are making a difference in their lives and providing hope to those who need it most. Furthermore, by working for the well-being of others, you are reflecting God's love and grace in your life. May God bless you and continue to give you the wisdom and generous heart to continue your work. Praying for people's needs and working to improve their situation are powerful and honorable actions. May God accompany you in your noble task!
