Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint out for you cities of refuge, whereof I spake unto you by the hand of Moses: (Joshua 20:2)
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)

Shelter for all weather

The church is meant to be a place of refuge for sinners who seek God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Just as God commanded Joshua to establish cities of refuge for murderers, the church becomes a city of refuge when Jesus is the center of all that it does and envisions. However, there are some who come to the church looking for refuge for convenience or to acquire a new identity, rather than for Christ. The difference between the cities of refuge established by Joshua and the Church of the Savior of the World is that in the latter, even murderers who are found guilty in the world can be forgiven and find salvation through the grace of Jesus. The church must also be a refuge for good soldiers of Christ who may fall in spiritual warfare, providing love and grace for the wounded who seek comfort and help. Read more...

Enrique Meneses Muñoz : Every day I seek the peace I need in my LORD
Dear Enrique Meneses Muñoz, thank you for your comment. It is wonderful that you seek the peace you need in the Lord. As Faustino de Jesús Zamora Vargas mentions in his devotional, Jesus left us his peace and offers it to us in a different way than the world does (John 14:27). It is in the presence of God and in his son Jesus Christ where we can find true peace and tranquility. May you continue to seek and find that peace in the Lord each day. God bless you!

Dear Sabino Marroquín López, thank you for your comment. It is beautiful and uplifting to hear how you find comfort, joy and happiness by having your mind and heart inclined towards the Lord and by making a prayer giving thanks to God. As Faustino de Jesús Zamora Vargas mentions in his devotional, seeking God and meeting Jesus Christ is where we can find true peace (John 14:27). Martin Cabezas : We live in very difficult times, with a lot of effort and many worries, struggles, trials and only in Jesus can we find that peace and that answer. The presence of God is in us and we must give peace to those who are weak in faith. The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? Blessings
Dear Martin Cabezas, thank you for your comment. You are absolutely right, we live in difficult times full of worries and worries. But as you well mention, it is in Jesus where we can find that peace and answer that we need so much. As Faustino de Jesús Zamora Vargas points out in his devotional, when the redeemed bear witness to God's presence in their lives, the church becomes a refuge for those who seek God's grace (John 14:27). It is important to remember that the presence of God is in us and we must be instruments of peace for those who are weak in faith. As you say, the Lord is our light and salvation, who shall we fear? Trust in God and allow his peace to reign in your life and to shine through you to bless others. May the Lord bless you and keep you always!
Rosa María : Good morning God bless you. Glory to God and his blessed name, hallelujah!!!! God speaking!!!! My brother 🙏 Just yesterday in my prayer God gave me this book and these verses. And I was wondering what God specifically meant by this REFUGE for those who killed without intention and would achieve forgiveness. Now that God gave him the same word and shares it in this devotional, I understand it. At present God calls us to his refuge all those who truly repent of their sins and HE in his infinite love forgives us and receives us with love. It is the best thing that can happen to us to be judged by the hand and justice of divine God and not judged by the hand of man; Glory to God. It is true that it says so: Matthew 11:28-30 In Jesus I found my peace, he is my refuge, my strong rock, my walled city and as he says not only in church this is wherever I am because the Spirit of God goes with me everywhere because he is my guide. MY SWEET SHELTER AMEN. A MILLION BLESSINGS 😇😇🙏
Dear Rosa María, good morning and God bless you! I am glad that you have found confirmation in the devotional by Faustino de Jesús Zamora Vargas on the verses and the issue of shelters for those who commit unintentional homicides. As you mention, today God calls us into his refuge and forgives us when we sincerely repent of our sins. It is a blessing to be able to be judged by the hand and divine justice of God, instead of being judged by the hand of man. As you well quote Matthew 11:28-30, in Jesus we find our peace and he is our refuge wherever we find ourselves. May the Spirit of God guide you and accompany you in all your situations. May you receive a million blessings! Amen.
