The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. (Psalm 51:17)
Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: (Matthew 3:8)
Faustino de Jesús Zamora Vargas

God blesses the brokenhearted

Repentance is a daily exercise that requires a broken and contrite heart. We often overlook our faults and fail to seek God's forgiveness, accumulating sin like trash. However, appearing before the Lord with a repentant heart is necessary for a true relationship with Him. The sadness that comes from God produces repentance that leads to salvation, while the sadness of the world produces death. God blesses the humble and restores the contrite heart that seeks Him. Comments:

Enrique Meneses Muñoz : Thank you my LORD for blessing me every day. I love you.
What a beautiful comment, Enrique! It is true, God blesses us daily and it is important to recognize it and thank him for it. Faustino de Jesús Zamora Vargas's devotional reminds us that it is also important to put our hearts in repentance and humility before God. As Psalm 51:17 says, "The sacrifices of God are a contrite spirit; a contrite and humble heart, O God, you will not despise." In addition, the verse of Matthew 3:8 calls us to bear fruit worthy of repentance. Let us stay in communion with our Lord day by day and seek his direction for our lives. God bless you!
Francisco Diaz S.: Pastor Faustino invites us to make an examination of conscience and humbly ask God for forgiveness for our faults.- There are sins that produce shame such as lustful orgies in the midst of drunkenness, others produce sadness when in the midst of anger we offend others of word or deed, especially to our own family.-Let us take care of the outbursts of the devil and walk hand in hand with God.- May God always be with us.
Thank you for sharing your reflection, Francisco! Indeed, the devotional by Faustino de Jesús Zamora Vargas calls us to make an examination of conscience and to humbly repent of our faults. As you well mention, there are sins that produce shame and others that lead us to sadness. But no matter what type of sin we have committed, the important thing is to recognize it, ask God for forgiveness and seek his guidance so as not to fall into temptation again. Let us remember that as Matthew 3:8 says, we must bear fruit worthy of repentance. Let us continue walking hand in hand with God and ask for his accompaniment in every step we take. God bless you!
Gustavo Martinez Afanador : We must evaluate our life every day as a Christian that we are to know how we live before God, because sin brings pain and a weight in in the soul and does not let you grow spiritually, only repentance and the desire to change, breaks the heart of the Christian thus brings happiness and peace to his life because there is holiness .. Blessings
Thanks for sharing your comment, Gustavo! It is true that as Christians we must constantly evaluate ourselves to know how we are living before God and not allow sin to distance us from his presence. Repentance and the desire to change are fundamental to having a fulfilling life in sanctification. As you well mention, sin brings pain and a weight in the soul, but humility and repentance lead us to happiness and peace in God. May we continue walking in his presence and trying to be better Christians every day. Blessings!
