We desperately need wisdom

SUMMARY:
Instead of making superficial New Year's resolutions, we should strive for a revolution in the search for wisdom. We need to be connected to God and ask for wisdom every day in order to make wise decisions in all areas of our lives. By using God's wisdom, we can bring blessing to others and expand the Kingdom of God. We must constantly renew ourselves in wisdom and view life through the lenses of Christ. Wisdom is knowing how to discern between good and bad and doing what pleases God at the right time and in the right way. The wisdom of God can be seen in creation and divine providence, and we should strive to be wise and seek wisdom in all aspects of our lives.
The hand of God's wisdom is seen in nature, divine providence, and the plan of salvation. We must align ourselves with God's purpose to receive supernatural wisdom. The wisdom of the world is in conflict with the wisdom of God, and we must discern between the two. God knows our hearts, and if we are willing to obey Him, He will give us what we need, even if we have made unwise decisions in the past. James 3:13-18 contrasts the wisdom of God with earthly wisdom, and we can judge someone's wisdom by their fruits. We must seek wisdom from above and not be deceived by the wisdom of the world.
There are two types of wisdom: earthly and from above. Earthly wisdom is selfish and leads to envy and bitterness, while wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, kind, and full of mercy. The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace. To obtain divine wisdom, we must cultivate communion with God, nourish ourselves with His word, and ask for wisdom. A wise person continually recharges their spiritual batteries, cultivates a teachable spirit, and consults God at all times. The challenge is to seek wisdom and manifest its fruits in our lives.
I challenged my audience to go beyond superficial resolutions and instead seek a revolution in their lives by pursuing wisdom and manifesting its fruits. I prayed for God to grant them wisdom and enlightenment so that they may know his purpose for them and for his power to work in their lives. I asked for God to give wisdom to those in both times of peace and anguish and to keep them from being contaminated by the wisdom of the world. Finally, I thanked God for his mercy, forgiveness, and purposes in our human frailty. Many of us have the habit at the beginning of the year of making resolutions, what we call the resolutions of the beginning of the year. And in fact one time a child asked another, he had heard a lot about resolution, the resolution from his parents at the beginning of a year and he asked his little friend, “What is a resolution?” and the little friend very wisely replied, "It's something that our parents talk about a lot for the first two weeks of the year," and then many times that happens, we make a resolution but very soon we put it aside because it becomes difficult , because we are doing other things and we abandon them.
Many people have resolutions and they firmly have a few steps to follow and they achieve them. Others of us just kind of throw wishes into the air, ah, I would like that this year, I would like the other, but we don't really strategize how to achieve those resolutions. We say it in passing. And others don't even take care of it, we take care of making resolutions because we have had bad experiences in the past. We once set out to lose weight and instead we gained weight. We set out to channel our anger appropriately and we didn't. We decided to make better use of our time and instead of watching one hour of television a day, we ended up watching three a day. Or we set out that I'm not going to be on Facebook as much, but what we did was make progress in the use of Facebook.
