All things are ours
Charles SpurgeonThe Book of Proverbs is also a Book of Promises. Promises should be proverbs to God's people. This promise is very remarkable. We are used to thinking of our good things as reversible, but here we are told that we will have them in possession.
Not all the malice and cunning of our enemies can work our destruction: they will fall into the hole they have dug. Our heritage is so tied to us that we will not be deprived of it, nor will we be diverted from the path so as not to find it.
But what do we have now? We have a clear conscience through the precious blood of Jesus. We have God's love fixed on us beyond all change. We have power with God in prayer, in all time of need. We have the providence of God who watches over us, the angels of God who minister to us, and, above all, the Spirit of God who dwells in us. In fact, all things are ours: "Be the present, be the future, everything is yours." Jesus is ours. Yes, the divine Trinity in Unity is ours. Hallelujah. We must not faint or groan, or skimp, or work like slaves, since we have the possession of good things. Let us live off our God and rejoice in Him all day long. Help us, oh Holy Spirit!
