You will be saved
Charles SpurgeonThere must be confession with the mouth. Have I made that confession? Have I openly declared my faith in Jesus as the Savior whom God has raised from the dead, and have I done so in the manner required by God? I have to answer this question honestly. There must also be faith in the heart. Do I sincerely believe in the risen Lord Jesus? Do I trust Him as my only hope of salvation? Does this confidence spring from my heart? I have to answer this as before God. If I could truly claim that I have confessed Christ and believed in Him, then I am saved. The text does not say that it could be so, but it is evident and clear as the sun in the heavens: "You will be saved." As a believer and as a professor, I can lay hold of the promise, and argue it before the Lord God at this time, and throughout life, and at the hour of death, and on the day of judgment.
I am to be saved from the guilt of sin, from the power of sin, from the punishment of sin, and ultimately from the very being of sin. God has said: "You will be saved." I think so. I will be saved: I am saved. Glory to God forever and ever!
