Loving God is easy; Love others too?
Fanny RodríguezI was listening to some colleagues talking about the news of this mother that when her daughter was playing she ran and fell into a lake near the house; she without thinking jumped into the water to rescue her. The interesting thing is that the lady did not know how to swim and this seemed incredible to them. But we know that today there are also miracles and that God gave him confidence by jumping to save his daughter. All affirmed that definitely a mother in the face of the danger of a child not only does heroic things but they are humanly impossible. I wondered what motivated her to act without thinking of seeking help? maybe call 911, and explain that she couldn't swim, no, she just jumped into the water. It was motivated by the most powerful force that there is LOVE. She thought only of her little girl, she didn't even think that she was putting herself in danger.
Now you think that if the person who was drowning had been someone who hurt her or who ignored her or was an enemy, she would have thrown herself to save her; I think not, maybe he had called or got someone but he would not have risked his life. How wonderful when I think that even though we walked in sin and against God, he nevertheless sent his only Son to die for us. God is LOVE and in the book of John we find that wonderful passage that we must continually remember: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost. , but have eternal life. " John 3:16. God's LOVE is perfect and we can all enjoy this wonderful gift of salvation in Christ Jesus. Therefore we must also remember God's command that we love him completely: "You shall therefore love Jehovah your God and keep his ordinances, his statutes, his decrees, and his commandments, every day." Deuteronomy 11: 1. This means that we love and obey him; There is still another implication to this mandate and that is that we love others.
Heavenly Father in this month when this nation celebrates the day of LOVE and friendship, urge us to take time to meditate on your wonderful LOVE and thank you for the salvation of our souls. Help us to bring that LOVE to others especially those with whom we have problems, including our spouses, children, siblings, parents, friends, colleagues and those who need a word of LOVE. Teach us to love like you, totally and unconditionally, I ask you in the glorious name of Jesus, amen.
