Going from sterility to abundance
Dr. Roberto Miranda(Audio: Spanish)
SUMMARY:
The church today is in a state of spiritual sterility and drought, much like the physical deserts that have spread throughout the world. This drought is both a reflection and a cause of the growing disorder in the church and in society at large. The prophet Joel saw a similar drought in Israel, and his words are relevant for the church today. The church must have a hunger for something more, a desire to see the glory of God manifested, and a willingness to confront the insults and challenges of those who do not believe in God. Only then can the church become a powerful force for good in the world, a town filled with the Holy Spirit, and a place where God's anointing is evident in all areas of life.
The speaker is addressing the lack of respect and influence that the church has in society. He believes that the church needs to cry out to God and seek his power in order to command respect and influence. The speaker references the book of Joel and states that the solution to the spiritual desert that humanity is in, is for the servants of God to strengthen themselves, to gird themselves, to prepare, to surrender to a search for the Lord. The speaker also addresses the need for repentance and a change in the mindset of the church towards God.
The speaker calls for repentance in the church, saying that it is not a cosmetic issue, but a matter of the heart. The church needs to repent of its superficiality towards God and love for worldly things. The speaker believes that the church is lukewarm and that God wants a church that is calling out, crying and repenting. The church needs to stop conforming to the culture and live as a torch, burning with love for God. The speaker calls for fasting, confession of sin and irreverence, and a serious commitment to living the word of God. The church needs to give birth and wake up. The speaker quotes scripture, calling for the church to submit to God, resist the devil, and draw near to God. The double-minded must purify their hearts and grieve, lament, and weep, in order to humble themselves before God and be exalted.
The message is a call for young people to take God seriously and to submit their lives to Him. The pastor urges the congregation to repent and ask for forgiveness for their sins, both as individuals and as a church. He prays for God to heal the church and the earth, and for a revival to come. The message also emphasizes that material possessions and achievements are temporary and vain, and that one should dedicate their life to serving God.I'm just going to take a moment to go to Joel's book because that little chorus that started this whole process, I believe that God has a purpose with it, and I want you to know where that chorus comes from because it also has biblical content and is very close. It's in tune with what we're talking about about baptism and the filling of the Holy Spirit. God wants a town filled with the Holy Spirit, God wants a town that has his anointing to be able to carry out the tasks that he has destined for that town.
These times we live in are times of spiritual sterility but they are also times of imminent harvest. Now, how are we going to go from desert and barrenness to harvest and rain? There's something interesting here that you and I need to know.
