God seeks worshipers

Juan Carlos Alvarez
(Audio: Spanish)

SUMMARY: The speaker discusses the importance of true worship in a world of relativity and chaos. He reads from John 4 about Jesus' encounter with the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well. He emphasizes the need for a broader understanding of God in the midst of difficult circumstances and the importance of being a worker in the harvest. The speaker also highlights the silent reformation happening around the world and the unique opportunities in New England, where there are wells of living waters. He reminds listeners that God knows them and their abilities, and encourages them to ask themselves why they are here in this historical moment.

The speaker discusses the importance of true worship and the relationship between fathers and sons. He emphasizes that God seeks true worshippers who have a father and son relationship with him. He also talks about the importance of honoring one's parents and children, as well as the importance of truth in worship. The speaker encourages listeners to respond to God's invitation to become true worshippers and to have a deeper relationship with him.

The speaker urges the congregation to be true worshippers and to present their lives as living sacrifices to God. He reminds them of the importance of having congruence in their lives and being who they say they are by the grace of God. The prophetic word for 2016 is that God is looking for true worshippers. The speaker prays for the congregation to be unified in God and for any relational curses to be broken. He encourages them to forgive, love, serve, and reconcile with others, and to take responsibility for their own spiritual growth.

I would like to share a few moments this morning about true worship in an era of relativity and I want to go to the text in John 4, I want to read starting from verse 4 when Jesus leaves Galilee, his disciples are baptizing. Jesus is already delegating, multiplying himself through the disciples. How many of you know that the work is not solely for Pastor Roberto? Say amen harder. Jesus had already baptized the 12, he had not baptized anyone, he says in verse 1 and 2 and he leaves Galilee and had to pass through Samaria.

“…So he came to a city of Samaria called Sychar near the parcel of land that Jacob gave to his son Joseph, and there was Jacob's well. So Jesus, tired from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour and a woman from Samaria came to draw water and Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink,” because his disciples had gone to the city to buy food. Then, the Samaritan woman said to him, "How is it that you, being a Jew, ask me for a drink from me who is a Samaritan?" – because the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that tells you to give me a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water." She told him, “Lord, you don't have anything to draw it with and the well is deep, where do you get that living water from? Are you greater than our father Jacob who gave us the well from which he himself and his cattle drank?" Jesus answered and said to him, “Everyone who drinks this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never thirst again.”
