SUMMARY: Joseph's ability to forgive stands out in his character. He forgave his brothers for their jealousy and envy that led them to want to kill him and sell him as a slave. Joseph had a continuous communication with God, which helped him overcome all the difficulties he faced. It is not known when he forgave his brothers, but his peace allowed him to use his gifts to administer with authority and grace. Joseph's brothers doubted his forgiveness, but he extended grace to them. If you feel unforgivable, know that the blood shed by Jesus on Calvary cleanses us completely. Accept that forgiveness, forgive yourself, and walk in integrity before God.

One quality that stands out in José's character is his ability to forgive. When after many years his brothers came for help, he recognized them immediately. What was your attitude? He retired to cry because he loved them and had forgiven their jealousy and envy that had led them to want to kill him, and finally sell him as a slave, revenge never crossed his mind.

It is very clear that Joseph cultivated a life of continuous communication with God, which is evident in times of difficulty: being rejected by his brothers, threatened with death, being sold as a slave, besieged by a woman, time spent in jail and perhaps many other problems that he overcame with dignity in the certainty of God's presence in his life.

The Bible does not tell the time when Joseph forgave them; It is possible that it was when he acquired prestige in the house of Potiphar, or when he was in prison in continuous communion with the Heavenly Father, or when he became a dignitary of Pharaoh. I dare to think that it was very early in his journey of separation from his father, because the peace of forgiveness allowed him to diligently unfold using the gifts that God had given him to administer with authority and grace. However, although Joseph expressed forgiveness to them, his brothers doubted the forgiveness he had extended to them and were frightened at the death of their father. They then send a false message to Joseph of a request from his father on his deathbed to forgive them. Again José is grieving and crying, when they prostrate themselves before him (as in the dream) and his response: “You thought badly against me but God directed it to good, to do what we see today, to keep many alive. town. Now, then, do not be afraid; I will support you and your children. Thus he consoled them and spoke to them from his heart. " Genesis 50: 20-21 The problem was that his brothers had not appropriated that wonderful forgiveness that they knew they were not worthy of receiving, but the grace of God that dwelt in Joseph made it possible.

It is possible that you find yourself today in the position of Joseph's brothers and think that your sin is unforgivable, because even the people around you have not forgiven you. I want to tell you that the blood that Jesus shed on Calvary cleanses us completely, it is a total forgiveness that the Lord extends to us. Accept that forgiveness, accept it, and forgive yourself. Then you will walk lightly, you will be able to rectify your way of living without your own effort but with the power of the Holy Spirit, receive the incomparable love of the Heavenly Father.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, I receive your inexhaustible forgiveness, help me to walk in integrity before you, to be a testimony also extending forgiveness to those who have hurt me, thank you for your love and your peace, In the name of Jesus, amen.
