The power of forgiveness
Nancy G. MarquezOne of the ways that lead to inner peace in the human being is to forgive and feel forgiven. The guilty conscience is one of the most oppressive loads that man can carry. Guilty conscience destroys inner peace. Now, how can we get rid of this disease of the soul and be at peace with God and with our fellow men? Taking hold of the Power of Forgiveness. That power that can lead us to find peace of the soul, inner peace. That power that can shake even the foundations of the world. That power that had its origin in Genesis 3:15, where God gives the first promise of redemption to that couple, Adam and Eve, who had sinned. That power that has its climax or climax on the cross of Calvary. I mean the Power of Forgiveness! The same power that made Christ, the Son of God, exclaim from the depths of his being: "Father, forgive them, because they don't know what they're doing."
Humanity is constantly looking for the power that leads it to achieve peace. We see nations, battling each other, seeking to be the strongest and most powerful. Power is sought through nuclear weapons, that is, military power to obtain peace. Political, economic, social, and even religious power is sought. But everything that man seeks to find peace, that is outside of God, is in vain. The problem with humanity is that it has no peace with God. And because he does not have peace with God, he does not have inner peace; consequently, he has no peace with his neighbor or fellow man. God himself set the highest example of forgiveness so that we can also receive and grant that forgiveness that produces internal peace, with our fellow men and above all, with God.
God forgave me and with it came my freedom; When I forgive, I not only free others, but I myself am free, since not forgiving keeps us imprisoned. Let's receive forgiveness and learn to forgive; the power of forgiveness is at our disposal!
