SUMMARY: Encouragement is the act of providing positive and constructive actions to draw alongside someone and help them become the person God has called them to be. We are all called to encourage one another daily, and not to give up meeting together. Sin can be a serious and dangerous matter, and it is our responsibility to reach out and encourage others before they become trapped in the net of sin.

Barnabas is an example of someone who exemplifies the characteristic of encouragement, as his name literally means "son of encouragement." He saw others through the eyes of God and recognized their potential to become all that God has created them to be. Barnabas helped those who had physical or financial needs, those who were new believers, those who were rejected by society, and those who needed a second chance.

Through Barnabas' life, we learn that anyone, whether extraordinary or ordinary, can have a huge impact on the lives of others if they allow God to use them. We are all vips in the eyes of God, and it is our responsibility to encourage one another and help each other reach our full potential in Christ.

Barnabas helped four types of people: those with physical or financial needs, new and young believers, strong Christians, and those who have fallen away or failed. He sold his property to help those in need, urged new believers to continue in the grace of God, welcomed Paul when no one else would, and encouraged those who had fallen away. Christians should follow Barnabas' example and offer encouragement to all types of believers.

Barnabas was a great encourager in the early Church, helping different types of Christians. He helped those in physical and financial need, encouraged young Christians, strengthened strong Christians, and even helped those who had fallen away and failed, like Joan Mark. Although Paul initially rejected Joan Mark, Barnabas believed in him and helped him to become a strong man of God. Mark went on to become a co-worker in the Church and author of the Gospel of Mark. Barnabas deserves praise for his role in helping Mark and inspiring others to encourage those who others have put aside. God calls us all to become encouragers.

The word encourage literally means to put on courage, the opposite of encourage is of course discourage. What is encouragement? It is to draw alongside someone and provide them with all sorts of positive, constructive action, so instead of feeling discouraged, depressed, they can hope to raise their head and have the courage, resources and strength to become the very person that God has called them to become.

Dear brothers and sisters may I make a bold suggestion here? That every single one of us here without exception is only here because someone has encouraged us, that someone has cared after drawing alongside of us and perhaps even in the most neediest moment and spoke a word of encouragement to us, given us a lift when we needed it, otherwise none of us would be here, so these good people from heaven, hallelujah, we praise God for them, amen, hallelujah, amen.

Called to be an armor bearer
The article talks about the importance of being an encourager to those in leadership and to our friends. It uses examples from the Bible, such as Barnabas, Jonathan, and David, to emphasize the need to be a faithful and encouraging supporter to those in leadership, and to remind our friends of the promises and good purposes that God has for them. The article also challenges readers to be like Barnabas and look for the potential in others, especially children, and to be willing to mentor and encourage them in their spiritual journeys.
