A new beginning
Alberto González MuñozA very common saying in our language is: "Little town, big hell." With him we intend to say that in a small community, where everyone knows each other well, any action or behavior generates radical judgments about the life of anyone. In a small Cuban town lived a woman whose life always it was on everyone's lips. She had become a very young widow due to very painful circumstances and was raising her young children alone. It took only one or two men to approach her for her to acquire a terrible reputation and be censured and despised by all.
When my wife and I met him, we discovered that he was a distraught woman who was only looking for support from someone who would give it to her. His struggle for life and his need for company had led him to a very vulnerable situation psychically and emotionally. On the verge of a nervous breakdown, she was seeking support on every possible path and was slowly falling into an abyss. When we introduced him to the gospel of Christ, he understood what it could mean for his life and he gave himself to the Lord with all his heart.
In the days that followed, it was evident that this woman was experiencing a radical change in her way of seeing life and in her responses to the challenges she encountered every day as a lonely mother with two small children to care for. In time, she became a missionary and her children serve the Lord today. So many years have passed, that seeing now this Christian lady with a refined reputation in the city where she lives, no one would be able to imagine the paths she traveled and how in her desperation to find support, she went downhill until the moment she was gave up Jesus Christ and embraced faith.
Do you know someone who is experiencing a similar situation? Preach the Gospel message with love and grace. Or perhaps the blows of life have left you exhausted or exhausted and you realize that you are falling into behaviors that, far from bringing you peace and stability, increase your frustration and hopelessness? Why, if you are looking for support, don't you invoke God's help and forgiveness? He says in the Bible: "Give me, my son, your heart, and look into your eyes in my ways." If you are willing or willing to try different ways, why not try God's way at once?
God's way is always the safest and it is the only one that definitely brings peace and hope.
God bless you!
