5 common obstacles to our faith
Susan Combs(Audio: Spanish)
SUMMARY:
The sermon is about overcoming obstacles to faith, using the story of the paralyzed man who was brought to Jesus by his friends. The first obstacle is fear, which paralyzes faith and prevents action. The speaker shares a personal story of being afraid in a haunted house. She also mentions the story of the woman with the issue of blood, who overcame her fear to touch Jesus and be healed. The speaker encourages the congregation to not be afraid and to just believe in order to be saved.
In this sermon, the speaker discusses four obstacles that can prevent people from receiving blessings from God. The first obstacle is fear, which can paralyze people and prevent them from taking action. The second obstacle is the belief that God has favorites, which is not true according to scripture. The third obstacle is a lack of understanding of the heart of Father God, who is willing and eager to bless his children. The fourth obstacle is the wrong use of our mouth, as negative words can bind us and prevent blessings from coming into our lives. The speaker encourages people to speak positively and have faith in God's ability to provide for their needs and desires.
The sermon talks about the importance of speaking and believing in God's power to overcome obstacles in life. It also addresses the issue of wounded faith, where people may lose faith in God when their prayers are not answered the way they want. The speaker shares her personal experience of losing her mother to cancer and how it tested her faith, but eventually led to her father's transformation. The sermon ends with a prayer for those who may have experienced wounded faith and a call to renew their faith in God.I felt that the women who had to bring that topic up were the preachers who came this year, Susan Combs and Igna de Suarez. They are women who represent, they are excellent models of what a woman is who has believed what God has deposited in them and they have moved in faith based on that deposit of the Lord in their lives, and this morning Susan is going to preach Combs.
Susan is originally from Arkansas, Colorado so she is American and she herself says that she is an American branch grafted onto the vine of Colombia. And she received that call to be a missionary in Colombia, at 6 years old, which is a wake up call, a call to wake up us as parents that God still speaks to small children and already puts his seed of call there even in a 6 year old child, even when she I didn't even know what Colombia meant. She didn't even know it was the name of a country, but even so, God spoke to her and years passed before that call came true but it did come true and she has been ministering in Colombia for 30 years, 25 of which she has been working together with Igna They are a precious model of friendship. Please God that he sends into the life of each one of us, and each one of us, a friend like that, who carries our burdens to laugh, to cry together. How wonderful to have support like that.
