When God Gives a Word, It Will Be Fulfilled in Every Respect

The prophetic Word that Elisha gave made possible the city’s deliverance and the abundant provision of food that followed. It is a story of faith and unbelief. Few stories show us so clearly the contrast between people who believe and people who doubt and reject the Word of God.

We saw this prince’s reaction when he heard Elisha’s Word that tomorrow there would be abundant provision. And now we see something interesting. When these lepers go to the city and announce that the Syrian camp is deserted and that food and clothing are available there, the Israelites’ reaction is interesting, especially the king’s reaction. And again, it is striking that these authorities, who are supposedly the spiritual and political leaders of these nations, are the ones who doubt.

When the gatekeepers tell the king what the lepers are saying about what happened in the Syrian camp, look at King Joram’s reaction. It says: “The king rose in the night and said to his servants: I will tell you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we are hungry, and they have gone out of their tents and hidden in the field, saying: When they come out of the city, we will take them alive and enter the city.”

How interesting that when this King Joram hears the Word, instead of believing it, he thinks the Syrians are setting a trap for them and are using this as a way to draw the Israelites out from behind the walls so that they can take possession of the city and invade it.

And so the king finally agrees to find out what is happening and sends some scouts. They discover that the whole road is indeed strewn with all kinds of belongings, clothing, and food that the Syrians had abandoned. Then these messengers return to the king and give him the good news that, yes, it is definitely just as the lepers said.

Then verse 16 says: “The people went out and plundered the camp of the Syrians, and a seah of fine flour was sold for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel, according to the Word of the Lord.” Exactly what Elisha had prophesied came to pass.

I suspect that the people had not even heard this Word that Elisha had given, but when all this food and these provisions became available, perhaps the leaders themselves said: Well, let’s sell the food for this amount and the fine flour for this amount, carrying out the prophetic Word that God had given through Elisha, because that Word had to be fulfilled.

Even unbelievers go along with it when God is at work, though they themselves do not know that they are fulfilling the Will of God. And this is what will happen in these times: rulers will come into alignment with God’s prophetic Word without knowing it or wanting to, but it will be so because that is what God is declaring.

And not only that, but it also says that when the people went out to get the food in the camp, the king put that prince on whose arm he leaned at the entrance, and: “The people trampled this prince at the entrance, and he died, according to what the man of God had said when the king came down to him. And it happened just as God had spoken to the king, saying: Two seahs of barley for a shekel, and a seah of fine flour would be sold for a shekel tomorrow at this time at the gates of Samaria.”

When God gave the Word, it was fulfilled in every respect. This man, who had been unbelieving, who had resisted the Word of the Lord, paid the price for his unbelief. Everything came together in a wonderful way, and the Word of the Lord was fulfilled exactly as it had been given through the prophet Elisha.

My brothers and sisters: As you can see, this is a wonderful passage, and I believe I am declaring the Word of God to everyone listening to and watching this message. A great move of God is coming; the Church of Jesus Christ must be prepared. This great invasion of evil that we see in the world, this great spiritual drought that we see in the nations, this great time of anguish in all the countries of the Earth, and this plague of sin that is invading the nations are simply the power of God preparing the stage for His prophetic power to arise in the nations and for a great harvest of souls to come, such as never before in history.

God is shaking the very foundations of the nations. Times of great suffering are also approaching for the nations. I believe times of great financial crisis are coming in the countries of the world, along with natural cataclysms and great suffering for the nations, but all of this will be part of preparing the spiritual stage for what God wants to do.

In that atmosphere of great suffering, of extreme need, of great ignorance on the part of the leaders of the nations, the Word of the Church will come forth into the light of the nations as never before in history. It will be a Word of solutions, a Word of blessing, a Word of power, of a mighty move of God. Miracles, signs, wonders—and that Word will break through every siege of the enemy, and the great harvest, the great blessing, the great provision that God has for these last days will come.

I declare this Word with the authority of the Lord, and I believe that it shall be fulfilled in this way, that it must be so, and that not a single letter will fall to the ground.
