Truth: an Attribute of God
God is not a man, that he should lie, Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it good? — Numbers 23:19
Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members one of another. — Ephesians 4:25

Summary: God does not merely possess truth: He is the truth, and this attribute should be reflected in us as His children. Although we are weak and limited human beings, we come from the Father of Truth and should strive to think, speak, and act sincerely each day, whenever it is within our power. We do not have to do this alone: the Holy Spirit is our helper and guide, and He leads us into all truth. Therefore, let us cast aside falsehood in our thoughts, words, and conduct. Let us be sincere with God and allow His Spirit to help us live according to the truth.
God does not have truth; God IS THE TRUTH. This is one of His attributes. If we are children of a God of truth, we must have the truth! As children of God, we must think the truth, speak the truth, and act in the truth whenever it is within our power to do so. Of course, we are not ‘God,’ but weak and limited human beings; yet, since we come from the Father of Truth, His DNA is in our spirit. Therefore, we must strive to live in truth every day of our lives.
The Bible tells us in John 16:13, ‘When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth.’ The Holy Spirit of God is our helper and our guide. From this day forward, let us put away living, speaking, and thinking lies. Let us be sincere with God and allow His Holy Spirit to help us.
