Deuteronomy 5:24 • Romans 1:19
We heard Your voice, a fire burning bright, A glimpse of glory, shattering the night. You made it plain, what we could understand, Your greatness shown, across every land. But just to hear, is not enough for me, My spirit yearns, for You truly to see.
No longer just by stories I have known, No distant God, upon a silent throne. My eyes now see You, face to face I stand, Experiencing You, by Your loving hand. My Redeemer lives, I know it to be true, I walk with You, my spirit made anew.
Like Job I walked through shadows, deep and long, Heard whispers of Your power in every song. But trials came, and in the bitter sting, My soul cried out, and learned Your heart to bring A deeper truth, beyond what words impart, A living God, dwelling in my heart. Like Moses cried, "If You won't go with me, Then do not send us, set Your people free!"
Sometimes You're quiet, and we wonder why, Do we truly seek You, beneath Your watchful eye? No golden calves hidden in our space, Just hungry souls, longing for Your grace. You yearn for us to meet You, just as You are, To break the chains, no matter near or far. We need to humble, surrender all we know, For Your spirit's fire, to truly overflow.
No longer just by stories I have known, No distant God, upon a silent throne. My eyes now see You, face to face I stand, Experiencing You, by Your loving hand. My Redeemer lives, I know it to be true, I walk with You, my spirit made anew.
My Redeemer lives! My eyes now see! Your presence here, forever with me. Unveiled now, forever free, My God, my God, I truly know Thee.
