God Always Comforts Us

We are a large family we treat each other with a lot of love and mutual respect. On May 20, 1996 my youngest brother, whom we all treat as if he were each other's children, died of a sudden heart attack. What a sad morning; filled our hearts with sadness and pain.

I went to my Bible looking for a word of comfort because it was something so unexpected and surprising that I did not know how to face it. I prayed and asked the Lord to give me a word of comfort. I opened my Bible and as I did so my eyes were fixed on the verse of Psalms 72:14, as soon as I read it I felt that the Lord told me "This is for you" I prayed for him to help me and give me the strength to comfort me mom (already old) and my brothers. The Lord manifested himself so beautiful not only with me but in all of us to comfort many who came to console us. Before going to the funeral home, I gathered my whole family, we held hands and I prayed to the Lord to give us peace, strength and support to face this situation, which is so real but at the same time it is difficult for us to embrace it.

In the cemetery, even my mother spoke of my brother's life and called on those present to seek the Lord. Only God can do this in the heart of the man and woman who has put their trust in him.

Pray for the people who have lost loved ones and still do not know the Lord as their only refuge.
