Don't Give Up

Some time ago, I read a poem entitled "Don't Give Up," which speaks about not giving up in the face of the difficulties life presents us with. I do not know the author's name, but I understand that he wrote in prose about what often happens in our lives every day. By way of advice, the author expresses himself as follows: “Even when things go wrong, as they sometimes do, even when the road seems uphill, even when your resources dwindle and your debts rise, and instead of smiling, perhaps you sigh; even when your worries have you overwhelmed, rest if you must, but do not give up.”

If anyone identifies with these words, it is neither a coincidence nor a matter of chance, because with God there are no coincidences. Therefore, today let us echo these words, and like the poet, I urge you not to give up when things do not turn out as well as you would like or expect. We must remember that God has not lost control of our lives, even when all the circumstances seem to be against us, as though we had been turned upside down, head over heels. God is still in control!

Don't Give Up

When things go wrong, as they sometimes do.

When the road seems uphill.

When your resources dwindle and your debts rise,

And when you try to smile, perhaps you sigh.

When your worries have you overwhelmed,

Rest if you must, but do not give up.

Life is strange, with its twists and turns,

As all of us have often found.

And many failures often occur,

Even though victory could have been won had one persevered.

So do not give up, even if your pace is slow.

Victory may be just around the corner.

Victory is failure seen in reverse;

It is the silver lining of that uncertain cloud

That keeps you from seeing how near it is...

Even when it is very close.

Therefore, resolve to fight without hesitation,

Because truly, when everything gets worse,

those who are brave do not give up—they fight!
