Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. (Ecclesiastes 11:1)
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9)
Charles Spurgeon

Someday we will reap what we have sown

We should not expect immediate rewards for doing good, and we should not limit our efforts to those who we think will reward us. Like the Egyptian who throws seeds into the Nile, we must trust that our good deeds will bear fruit in due time. We must do good to the ungrateful and teach the stubborn, even if it seems improbable. God will fulfill His promise, and we will reap what we have sown, even if it takes time. Our job is to be patient and faithful in doing good. Read more...

What a beautiful statement of trust in God, Jaime! As Charles Spurgeon's devotional reminds us, sometimes we sow our goodness and dedication without seeing immediate results, but our labor in the Lord is never in vain. Just as he mentioned in Ecclesiastes 11:1, "Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it." Our true help comes from God, who is the Creator of heaven and earth, as you forcefully affirm. May all glory, power, and praise be to Him! Let us continue to trust in His faithfulness and sow love and goodness, knowing that in His time we will reap wonderful fruits. Blessings! πŸ™πŸŒŸ

Francisco Diaz S.: The greatest satisfaction for someone who mercifully assists and helps a person who is going through difficult times is when they see the happy and grateful face of the person receiving the benefit. The good giver becomes an angel of the Lord because the grace of the Lord has been manifested through him.
Francisco Diaz S., your comment is very moving and profound. The joy and satisfaction we experience in helping those going through difficulties highlights the manifestation of God's grace through our acts of love and mercy. As Charles Spurgeon mentions in his devotional, our work in the Lord reflects His goodness and love toward others. By being instruments of help and comfort, we become channels of divine grace, showing the face of our Good Giver, God Himself. May this motivation to see happiness and gratitude in those to whom we extend our hand motivate us to continue being instruments of blessing in the hands of the Lord. Efigenia Vidal : Amen for the word of life. The Lord reminds us that everything we do should be as if it were for Him, and greater love is when He exhorts us: if the enemy asks for water, we give him something to drink, and if he needs food, we give him something to eat. His great love for us and the proof that we love Him is to obey, even if He has suffered the affliction caused by one of those in need. May God bless and protect you.
