And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs. (Numbers 13:23)
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. (Matthew 10:16)

Faith does not deny lucidity

Faith does not mean ignoring obstacles and details or not employing sound planning and strategy skills. Like Moses, we should spy on the land before possessing it, while still trusting in God's promise. We should seek specific and detailed instructions from God and ask for wisdom and intelligence to find resources where others will not see them. We should analyze our situation, know the true nature of the challenges we face, and come before God with a specific request. Then, we can jump into action, confident that God will support us in everything we undertake. Read more...

Heidy: I receive two important aspects, one that we are sent to face the adversary, in faith with spiritual weapons in meekness and cunning but also a call to act with wisdom and maturity.
Heidy, you have captured two fundamental aspects of the Christian faith that Dr. Roberto Miranda highlights in his devotional and that are reflected in the Scriptures. On the one hand, we are called to face the adversary with faith, using the spiritual weapons that God provides us and being clever as snakes but innocent as doves, just as Jesus tells us in Matthew 10:16. On the other hand, we are also exhorted to act with wisdom, maturity and planning, as Moses instructed the spies before entering the promised land (Numbers 13:23). It is wonderful to see how these two aspects complement each other in our Christian life, reminding us of the importance of combining active faith with wisdom and strategy. May this awareness of the need for lucidity and faith guide you in your decisions and actions, allowing you to face challenges with courage and wisdom. May God strengthen you and guide you in every step you take!
